no worries mate :)
as for the technical advice, i cant really help you there. but apparently there is a small ammount of camber adjustment on the standard setup, i don't have a clue how/where tho
maybe that was a bit harsh saying the scooby was chavy. looking at it again... the wheels look great on the scooby look great, its just the front bumper that ruins it.
i think the look of the clio put me off the scoob, not a fan of the clio at all.
both cars look a bit 'chav', sorry fella. not my thing at all. i would feel a bit of a tool driving either of those cars.
the work done looks to a high standard, but what a shame... they are ruined
same here mate... if i had known i would have gone for some mark fish ones too! lol
ok, cheers. had some spanners on there, its really tight! still a rattle tho
mine is a new design from k-tek, its just like the compbrake ones but blue.
the rubber washer is between the top nut and the...
i guess bolting them in place would be one fix. bit extreme tho.
i just don't really know what else to do. just a bit p!ssed off as they are a pretty expensive bit of kit and they don't seem a very good design.
how about removing the top rubber washer and fitting a large metal washer. the...
they are knocking even on smooth roads. would need to drive on glass for them not to knock!
don't think its anything else, didn't do it before i had them fitted :(
took it back to jabba today to try to sort the knocking/rattling out. after 45mins... still no result. they are still knocking! we made up some metal washers to go between the top locking nut and the rubber washer to allow the top nut to be tightened up more. still no luck tho :(
does anyone...
maybe they are due to be replaced as im at 47000 or something and im not sure if they have ever been replaced.
should i get the rear bearings while im at it too?
yeah i get a rumble/grinding noise, but not every time after i brake. its happened a few times after some sprinted driving and heavy (ish) breaking.
when i press the brakes they seem to grind a little on the discs.
the rear's as you say, don't actually do a lot. the rear pads are very thin...
yeah common fault.prob just a worn top mount, there are many 'claimed' fixes. none of them seem to work. new top mounts might do the trick tho.
i got some solid top mountsfor mine, but road noise is increased
had been using my brakes fairly heavily and pushing the car slightly (not stupidly) and a loud rumble appeared. it sounded like either a wheel bearing or breaks rubbing. it stopped after obout 5 seconds, then it did it again a minute later after using the breaks then getting up to speed.
i don't...
yeah im not sure what the noise is but its when i go over potholes, a change in road surfaces or just bumpy roads.
i don't want the mounts to do any damage to anything else
well... thats a hard one to answer. since fitting the top mounts the handling does feel slightly more controlled. but, there seems to be more road noise. i think this it due to it being a 'solid' mount rather than a rubber one (that will take some of the impact and move slightly freely). the...
so its a nice neat fit to the corners? sounds good to me.
find out how much you want and how much postage will be etc... and i may have it off you.
where abouts are you from? to far to collect?
just been serching through this and it seems a lot of people seem to get banging etc, from solid top mounts. so is this just a common thing with the mounts then, just more road noise due to lack of rubber so you can hear more banging and crashing in potholes, changes in road surface etc... ?
