I can't wait tbh. I'm really pleased as I have the newer silver shifter which looks better IMO. How long did it take you to fit? and do you have any tips?
I don't think mine is quite track spec yet, I'm aiming for more Clubsport Spec!
We're fairly local to each other so I'm sure we'll cross paths one day, no doubt when in our "normal" cars!
Alignment Done - Elite Rainham
So on Friday I popped to Elite in Rainham (Essex) to get the alignment done, a mixed review. I like the fact you can just turn up and get the alignment done without any prior booking yet I was at Elite for almost 4 hours and they were far from busy. The time...
I removed the spacers when fitting the subframes. I am also running the @JON FOZ items. My seats are bolted via the side mounts directly to the subframe and I love how low they sit.
I'm using 40mm bolts to secure the subframe down.
I'm just shy of 6ft.
Good Afternoon All,
This Saturday is the breakfast meet at The Hare in Roxwell.
I don't think I'll be able to make it but I know a few members on here like to attend, so thought a gentle reminder wouldn't go astray.
Tom
I'm running 2118's in ET38.
I had to run spacers on the front as the tyres where so close to my GAZ coilovers, I would have preferred not to have run spacers:
Pic with 20mm H&R DRA spacers on front (nothing on rear).
Pic with no spacers:
I also believe @Dr Jekyll is also running ET38's
My PMS (Pure Motorsport) Shifter arrived yesterday and I can't wait to get it fitted.
In away this weekend but I'll try and get it fitted on Thursday/Friday evening.
My MOT is fast approaching and I've managed to get it booked in for Saturday 12th August 2017 so fingers crossed all goes...
How was fitting the PMS Josh? I've read @NorthloopCup advice about using cable ties to keep it as far left as possible, but I'm still a little nervous about f*cking it up! How long did it take you to fit yours?
Regarding the airbox unfortunately I dont have a comparison as I've never driver...
This weekend I managed to get a few free hours and I managed to fit the harnesses.
I still need to spend a bit of time adjusting the shoulder straps but the hard work is done, I'll let the pics do the talking:
I measured up on the passenger side and luckily where I wanted to drill was a good...
Perfect.
Thanks, I'm hoping to fit mine tomorrow so will copy.
Did you use fix the spreader plates to the bottom of the vehicle with silicone, etc or just let bolt hold it up?
Finally, What plates did you you use to attach the lap mounts? Same as the crotch belt?
You would think they should last longer than a year/10k. Shame to have to spend money just replacing items.
Great update as usual.
I like the wheel nuts.
So my Schroth brackets (B23A) arrives today. Below is a pic of the M8 bolt in the bracket without a washer:
It does overlap slightly but not much.
This is with the bolt pushed all to one side:
Below is a pic with a washer, these are only stainless however I will be using zinc ones...
I'll pick up some washers from toolstation or Screwfix this weekend and then I know I've used the correct quality bolt, washers and nuts.
Thanks for your help @JamesBryan
Thanks for the links.
I have a Toolstation really close so easy to pick them up.
Yeah I have ordered these brackets. I'll wait for them to arrive and see if I need to make them any bigger.
Fingers crossed I can use the M8 bolt and washer.
Have you any pics of yours fitted @Stuiemc or @JB21 ?
At the risk of asking a stupid question what material is best for "strong" washers, I'm currently using stainless washers and bolts but having read a few thing not sure they are the strong enough.
Any links to appropriate washers & bolts would be appreciated, especially from...
Since my last update I've been to the Nurburgring for a long weekend, I was initially trying to get my Clio completed prior to the trip but I unfortunately ran out of time.
I've now order the items required to fit the harnesses to the Clio and I've also managed to jump on a group buy run by...
