    Oil leak after service

    My brothers 1.2 Clio was serviced late last week now we have noticed an oil leak. I'm thinking a likely cause will be either they have reused the sump plug washer or not put the filter on properly. Does that sound about right? I've not had chance to have a look yet as we only noticed earlier...

    I just did several big stops and allowed them time to cool in between. As I say they work fine but I seem to be getting the deposits people talk of on the disks after three track days. @JamesBryan changed to CL RC5+ and much prefers them.

    As above I'd get CL pads. I currently run 2500's and whilst they do give good braking once warm, they leave deposits on your disks.

    Because the ph1's have cable throttle so better response and they're 60kg lighter than the ph2. Cups are slightly lighter than the ph1 and generally make better power than normal 172's believed to be down to having no AC.

    It will never drive or sound like the petrol. Unless you do 20k miles per year or more then get the petrol.

    Mine suffers a big flat spot under 4000rpm which Scoff said was down to induction length, but we run the same filter setup so that's strange. I'll post my graph up later.

    Check the injector, take the fuel rail guard off and unplug injector my pressing the metal clip on the electrical connector and if the engine note doesn't change that is the problem.

    Was a good day. Mine was 165bhp, was a little less than expected considering how well it moves. The <1000 kg weight helps though, just need @JamesBryan's engine now

    Not on an early phase one with no post cat lambda sensor though. On my 182 with decat it came on and stayed on which was a little annoying.

    There is probably little to no gains from a decat on a standard engine.

    Mine cost about £125 to adjust height, corner weight, align etc. The £50 they quoted was just for corner weighting, they didn't really explain the whole process too much over the phone if I'm honest. Did a good job though.

    I have to pay about an extra £100 on my insurance because it's leased too. It's a joke to be honest, it's no different to a PCP yet because my name isn't on the V5 it means I'm obviously more likely to crash it.

    I had mine corner weighted before I tracked it. What I can say though is the car behaved brilliantly, a guy who races a Clio in tintops also took it out and said it was a well sorted car. I'd recommend it overall definitely.

    @JamesBryan and I are resident injector changing experts after doing it three times in half an hour on mine last week only to find out it was a knackered HT lead causing the misfire this time.

    Probably a lot easier to sell up and buy a TCE mate considering insurance and resale issues along with the actual conversion.
