I burnt out my old one on the 1.2 at just over 76K, cost £350 to replace from McConechy's. Could have got it cheaper, but I needed the car pretty much straight away.

Oils and batteries are usually reduced quite a bit. I got a card just by taking in a lot of receipts from renault and Unipart, managers discretion is used suposedly.

If the red light stays on, its an immobiliser problem. Only time I ever had this problem on my old motor was when the battery was on it's way out.

Oh theres still the issue of melting steering wheels in them IIRC.

I've driven one of Mk3 Ph1 for a few miles and I thought the quality insde was better, less rattles and a nicer driving position IMO. At first I thought the stubby controls would be a pain but by the end of the trip I quite liked them. Only thing that annoyed me was where reverse is in them lol.

For £4 I'll hae some of that.
