It's hard not to judge a book by its cover sometimes. A lot of these no neck types seem to be attracted to my local town, they're always trying to prove something/start fights. Chip on shoulder springs to mind.

I can only speak of my experience, mine has been fine (touch wood). Not the nicest box from new IMO, the one in my abarth is far smoother.

Check for gearbox If it feels like a Victoria signal box - avoid.

TBH for starters, you don't really need to do anything to it other than maybe a service & brakes. Fettle as you develop/need to.

I'd go with the PE3's tbh. Conti are ok on the 200 to be fair, but always been a michy fan boy.
