When I did my ex's car, I used the extractor to wind the thread out, then turned it over without the plug in to make sure there were no splinters.

You won't be hearing the w-bearing on idle, they rumble when rotated.
Sounds like either the tensioner or idlers to me etc.
When I purchased my 200, the salesman was trying to offer me a Raider and going on about how it's an upgrade etc.
But I never have really liked them so only an upgrade if you feel that way about them aye, salesman didn't seem to understand.
