Kind of input, I was hoping for thanks guys. Saving us all time and money, making it safer etc. The Burpspeed seat is nice and holds you in well, was going to ask Tony what it is.
Thanks Jay, looking on TSL's site, they now do a subscription based one, which would minimise the outlay, compared to buying a new one. Don't know yours and Tony's thoughts on these.
Each driver gets allocated a tyre that has been slated as a ditchfinder on CS? Gopro footage to give their own take on it. Trophy if they make it to the chequered flag
So here's my proposed shopping list to ready the car, subject to checking regs:

Not a direct answer to your statement Chip as I agree entirely but for others considering....
Still could be worth a gamble if budget's tight, you could pay for a few recoveries before equalling the cost of a decent trailer but depends if you want to take the chance. Also tow car and trailer...
Ian mentioned about 7k, don't think it would be far off really.
Bare minimum guesstimates, fully expecting to have to pay a bit more before anybody tries to correct me:
I have budgeted roughly £2-2500 to get me and the car ready : cage, cutoff switches, fire ext, seat, harness, suit, gloves...
Forgot to post a link to MSV's go racing pages. Found these useful too and from trackdays that I've done with them, they are always professionally done:

Well if this year's anything to go by, I believe it's £300 race entry which is pretty reasonable and obviously initial setup costs are low, as we don't have to splash out to get the car competitive, as they should all be much of a muchness Josh. Win win all round.
Roll on Oulton and Donington, should be able to make both, have a bit more of a nose for next year. Great result again mate, can't sniff at trophies when you're still carrying a novice sticker. Well done!
