I'd consider detailing to be thorough cleaning of every surface and adding the protection after cleansing.
If someone asked me what it was that's what I'd say, that and getting the car to better than showroom standard through machine polishing.
You can clean a panel, but unless you address...
Cool, I did as well, hopefully there won't be any more threads popping up asking what wax for my RB/LY etc. and they will be directed in here.
Better still, they might read the countless posts by some of us before posting!
Nice one Tom.
Re: The Stupid Car Cleaning/Detailing Questions Thread..
Maybe this should be changed to be the Detailing Chat & Questions Thread, makes more sense than clogging up the "What have you bought" thread.
Am I on my own in thinking that the Recaros are comfy?
I have them with the cup chassis 2 hours daily and I've done 3 and a half hours in them and got out happy at the other end.
I'll get some photos up later, my boss spotted me taking them after work yesterday...
"Were you taking photos of the water on your car?"
"Yes, yes I was, don't ask..."
FML, at least it's the only gimpy hobby I have.
Yep, Zymol Carbon but that isn't beading as well after a few thousand miles.
I'm going to garage it for a few days and get it immaculate but I thought I'd put some of this Stjarnagloss stuff on in the meantime.
I Was soooo tempted to get some vintage on DW!
There wasn't much in the sample though to justify over more important things.
Let us know how you get on.
On another note, the beading on Stjarnagloss Glasparla Hyper Beader is insane!
I've done a few hundred miles and it hasn't changed at all...
AF will tackle anything with just a MF, seriously good stuff. Finishes down well also.
Being in a tin is fine as well, put the MF round your finger and you can control the amount.
James did say to me that there would be a concentrate mixture of Citrus in future because I said I use too much of it to warrant using it as a pre-wash every time.
Use a wash mitt in future, sponges trap dirt on the surface, mitts move it away.
The only way you will remove the swirls is by polishing, usually machine polishing unless you have arms of steel to work it for so long.
As people have said, look in the detailing section, there's a few decent...
Citrus Power ftw, works better than snow foam for me, but it's costly in Litre form.
Tried any higher dilution rates Dave? I did a top up with 2 inches of Citrus in the bottom of the litre bottle, wasn't half as effective.
Not good mate, try not to feel guilty for it though.
It's his responsibility to not run into the back of you at all times, in theory.
Best of luck to the both of you.
Looks lovely mate, if you need some pointers for what to get there is a detailing section with some great advice.
Have a trawl through, I'm sure there are some Albi blue details!
