I bought a similar set off ebay, the problem is the mounting on the back is different. The ones I have don't have seperate clips just a sculptured back for them to clip in, they just will not clip in to the deep recess that is on the PH1 wheels. I'm sure with some cutting and bodging they will...
Washed my car Thursday for the first time in three months....it then rained. Took it for a drive and fuelled it and then had the tracking sorted yesterday at work as the steering has been off since all the front suspension has been swapped. It now sits dead center and feels alot better.
Had a near 80,000 point round last night that helped.
And Scott I have been playing it on the pc since it came out in November 2011. I also frequent 64 man servers so easier to rank up as there is more people to kill/heal/supply. In two rounds last night I got 2 resupply medals.
Full repsect to you Piers for rebuilding the car back to its former glory. I have to admit very time I looked at it I'd still be crying. I hope you get it back to how it looked and enjoy it as much as your father did.
I doubt very much they could wrap it over the rubber trim. And even if they could there would be an indentation which would look very odd. Looks way better as it is now imo.

On a serious note when I worked at Renault we had a guy come and change his car every 2 -3 months for cash balance. We knew he was a dealer but hey what can you do.
