I sold my silver Ph1 in early Summer and bought a 225 TT, really didn't enjoy owning the TT but that is another story. I decided I wanted another 172 and it was going to be either a black Ph1 or a Cup, I'd really enjoyed owning my previous 172's and just thought it would be good to stick with...
That is a difficult one, I wouldn't want to be running two cars but I suppose a dci is only £35 a year tax and could you add another car to your insurance policy on the cheap?
If you could get this for £1000/1200 I'd be tempted. I'm sure the miles will put alot of people off but full service...
What about a 172, a cup even? Less to buy and leaving you with some extra towards insurance. I don't think I'd be wanting to pay over 1250 on insurance though.
What sort of quotes have you been getting?
I fancy having a go at using an electric car polisher, as under light the paint work of my 172 has a fair few swirl marks. I did also find a car polisher at work that was bought for a solid surface worktop 3 years ago but never used, so I suppose that has influenced my decision.
Now I'm not...
Maybe a repost but I think the price has been reduced a fair bit. Not sure what you'd do with it but seems cheap at £850!

I got my first 172 (a ph2) when I finished uni at 21, I had 1yr NCB and FC it was £885. After a year it came down to £720 (on a ph1). 6 months into that year I swapped the policy onto a 225 TT and Bell gave me £49 back. I'm 23 now and my current 172 costs about £675 a year.
So I would just...
No I'm affraid not, sold it to Liquid about 5 minutes before you arrived at that Wakefield meet.

It might be worth...
Really good buy at 1200.
For £300 he will have had the cambelt done and an aux belt, not kit. Just get a aux belt kit done for peace of mind. NW Performance did mine at a really good price using genuine Renault parts.
If you got 5k for the 182 and then spent 2k on a ph1 172 I don't think that would be a bad move if you are trying to save a bit of money. You might find a decent 75k 172 with the belts done for 2k, then just put a bit of cash to one side just in case anything does go wrong.
In terms of fun, I...
