My advice is to never go aftermartket unless you have to.
And we don't use anyone's software, we write all our maps for the cars we do on the dyno.
Nice project btw :)

A remap will only add power IF done correctly. Be careful where you go as we see so many losing power.
An example was the other day on a C2 VTS, superchips managed to lose 2hp and 2lbft all over the rpm range (i loaded an original map).
It goes to show that it's not always the big companies...
You wouldn't believe how well it fits! Even the bumper goes on with no cutting at all.
Just need to sort the radiator out as it's in the way of the charger intake :(
I need to take some more piccies but the car is now running (not mapped yet though) with it's supercharger and rather large custom Forge cooler.
A set of injectors from the Megane RS. It sounds awesome!
Yes i am, :)
I advise you install ANY mods you plan before the map, that way it's mapped to suit your car and you won't throw it out by fitting additional parts.
The standard map is developed within a certain tolerance to suit every day mods and different fuel's used.
Custom on the dyno is more involved, taking logs from power runs and loading the car up at different rpm's, this is then used to create the mod. The same process is repeated until happy...
It depends what you want, i can offer a standard map to suit mods, a custom map or a full live map (live is not really needed much tbh).
Most people are happy with the basic but some prefer to get the most from their car/mods.
The fuel used often plays a big part in what gains are possible.
and a 172 from a long time ago, used another dyno to map this

Of course yes, the inertia type dyno is so easily cheated, pull the wheel or anything and bang you have more power!
Like you say the road is the test, and yes people are too hung up about the "hp"
I have seen some maps that are only touched to give a little extra power at the top to give the...
Yes it certainly can be. It will also highlight any issues with the car that need sorting.
Sometimes a base map won't be improved on too much or at all but thats pretty rare really.
I quoted upto 15hp max, this has been seen on several cars but not all, torque is the biggest gain on these. The one we had in today started with a massive 152 lowest! This was due to heat soak in a big way, the carbon fibre engine cover was not helping! upto 70 degrees on the intake and lots of...
