Today I decided I would take the 182 to a Rolling road to see how healthy the engine is, The results left me somewhere between happy but also disappointed at the same time, it came out with 172bhp and 208nm(153ftlbs) of torque. The car only has cheapo airfilter and ktec supersports exhaust. The...
As a mechanic i would play it safe and remove the spacers and refit the wheels with all four bolts :). Just think of it like this, a wheel bolt missing is an MOT fail, meaning its unsafe.
You don't need 5th at 30mph...of course it will labour the engine, at those speeds you probably be at 1400-1500rpm and VVT doesn't even start until 1700/1800 rpm iirc, and VVT is there to give you a balance of both economy/power, you'll probably get better fuel consumption in 3rd or 4th if...
Potentially yes, depends if he knows how to mess with the calibrations, as some company's RR's give very friendly results, where as others are less forgiving, not sure we will over know lmao. As for the timing belt, id recommend Fred@BTM all day long, hes a top bloke and will get the timing bang...
He could be trying to sell you his maps to be honest, RS tuner maps are supposed to be pretty good. Many 182's don't actually make 182bhp, although a good strong engine should see 170-180 IMO. If the timing is slightly out you can lose a fair chunk of bhp. Yet to get my 182 RR'd, hope im not...
The last rolling road I went on had a sign on the wall 'If your piece of s**t blows up I take no responsibility' lmao , fair enough really. I suppose its the risk you take, lucky the tyre went on the RR and not on the road!
That's my fault ,:rasp: I could have posted stacks of photos and a huge write up but couldn't be bothered and doubt anyone would care, just a few after shots will do. I cleaned every little crevis and even got the cotton buds out, didn't write/post pictures of the full body clay barring/paint...
Thanks mate, I get it now, mine isn't a cup, just the suspension pack, didn't realise tbf as im new to Clio's. I didn't realise the 'cup' was actually cheaper and comes with less extras so I was infact mis-representing my car to be poverty spec ;). I might buy a cup spoiler and carbon splitter...
Haha, naa its all good mate, just wanted to clear up that its not 'full fat' but it is a 'CUP' but if I bought a spoiler and splitter then its would be full blown I suppose, but neither are important in my eyes ;) however the suspension is.
It is a cup, It just hasn't got the cup spoiler pack, and front splitter is missing, but it has the cup suspension package , grey 16" wheels etc, confirmed by Fred at BTM, I checked with him while I was there :rasp:
Decided today that I would clean and detail my car as my new exhaust arrived this week, so I got to fitting it ( I know this part isn't to do with detailing so its basically ASW ;) )
Before:
After:
Now onto the cleaning/products, buying fairly cheap/basic cleaning stuff at the moment as I...
Fitted my new KTR / Janspeed Super Sport exhaust system :), now off to clean it. This car gets my undivided attention every weekend, the missus can't be happy :p
In pure terms of performance that thing must fly but you can definatly get a much nicer car with that sort of cash and have enough change to get a deposit on a house after (or even buy one) :rasp:
This is what I thought, I did think it sounded too loud after first driving it, it was really offensive, bearing in mind that my last car was a Vtr with super sprint straight through exhaust so im used to loud exhausts as well. Has got me totally stumped. A mate was there when I did it and he...
Just a quick one, I just purchased a New Ktec 182 Ktr/Jan speed super sports exhaust , and when I first started it the system was really really raspy/loud, after driving it for approximately 1 mile the noise disappeared and now it is pretty quite. Can anybody shed some light on why this...
