Yes, just make sure you let it dry properly for atleast 24-48hours, then you wont need to sand it all off, just flat the clear coat and go for there. Dont use halfords from getting paint mixed, just find a decent local supplier, or google someone who will post from a paint code. Alot of renault...
Mine runs better on 95 than the super fuels, car feels quicker, pulls / picks up better.Up until recently i ran super fuel in it for 3+ years till i was forced to put 95 in one day and it felt so much happier on it.
Im waiting for my 4pots ive ordered, if your going to "significantly" up the power of the car i.e turbo etc, which is my end plan then they are definately a worth while investment IMO.
I have the KW v2 Kit on my Ph2 172, and i can honestly say its absolutely superb (its been on 6+ months now). The handling is out of this world, i was 50:50 between this and the Blisten kit. All i will say is the KW kit doesnt allow you to go very low at the rear (probably a 30mm drop MAX over...
My mates got a type r , EP2 been in it quite a few times , nice cars not worth the extra money over a 172 tho.....my stripped 172 has no problems pulling on it now. Build quality seems ok, bits of it look a bit cheaply made. I wasnt that impressed with the interior but i guess thats just his...
+1 Thanks for that buddy. Everything we use is 2k, basically will look like it was standard on the car, where as 1k halfords or other will basically stand out a mile from the super glossy body work on your car.
<----- ding ding, we are Leominster but can collect from w.midlands most mornings. Refurb wise what are you after? bad kerbing? colour change? can quote on pictures no problems.
You dont use the rubber over the spring locator, well atleast i didnt on my KW's and all has been well. Im 99.9% sure it will be shallow side to the rear beam, but we are a spray shop lol, but i dabble.
Well you started right with 400p, but then you went a bit OTT with 120p, always WET aswell. When we do them here, which is several a month normally, we go 400 - 800 - 1500, plastic primer, 2k primer, 1500, colour, clear coat.
Obviously we do these in 2k so the finish is very high gloss, PM...
The one in the pictures been chrome plated i imagine, there are paints for chrome effect but they arent really recommended on areas that "could" get very hot, VHT is recommended, which there is fairly limited colours for.
Your right on the engine covers tho, we obviously do these so drop me...
Hi Chaps, just to let you all know we will be at CSS, so we can take small / medium items back with us.
Please let us know in advance if you might be interested in us taking parts on the day, so we can arrange the transport if needed.
Cheers,
Simon, Tony & Eilidh @ Spray Shack
Ive got one here sat here doing nothing if you want it, working on last removal from my ph2 172. If you want it just drop us a £10 (its pretty heavy you see) for the postage and ill drop it in a box for you if you get stuck for one.
You'll want 1-2 decent sized can's of plastic primer, (you are putting a thin coat, just to cover, if you go through the primer to the plastic again at any stage of sanding you will need plastic primer again)
Several (plenty!) cans of normal primer grey / white / black depending on the colour...
Textured plastic really requires a light sand, thin layer of plastic primer, followed by several coats of 2k high build primer with 15mins in between each (which is a professional thing not recommended for the diy'er) or alot of sanding, sh*t loads of sand paper and time if doing a DIY job.You...
Bird turd hasnt caused that, its poor adhesion, a poor spray job as stated above. Unless of course you have had the pressure washer like up close and personal on water pistol from hell mode hehe. The whole item (cant tell what it is) will need stripping right back to bare and respraying. The...
