What was it before the work was done? Sounds pretty honest to me. Most 1*2s are in and around the 160 to 180bhp mark depending on engine health. So if yours was 165bhp then the mods ending up at 175bhp is about right. By the way, that’s 175 bhp at the fly, not at the wheels.

Gripper’d box on my old flamer was the best modification I ever did to it. Better in terms of impact / increase in performance than the supercharger in the wet on tracks with tight bends.

As said above, you have to remove it if you run a supercharger. But other than that, yes, I can’t really see why someone would actively choose to remove it if they didn’t have to? Before I charged mine, I got it powder coated and it looked great.
