I can be matey for that amount, just fed up of calling retards that say £60! Most of the garages charge less for doing tracking/geometory setup and that takes roughly an hour! Fitting and balancing 4 tyres only take 15 mins tops!
Anyone on here that can/or knows someone that can fit and balance 2 tyres for me without ripping me off? Not really looking to pay £30 for two tyres to be fitted and £60 for 4 fitted.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Nick
Only messing matey, I think its good that older people are still into there cars! Just unfortunately there are far more older people that aren't and like to take the piss!
Get this at work quite a lot because most of the people I work with are or nearly double the age of me they say all this 'whats the point in modifying your car' etc etc and I just give the usual I'll be using it on track.
The one thing that makes it all a bit ironic is that when you ask what...
Re: does jms do gearbox refurbishment?
Mine went to this place to the gearbox rebuilt 2 days after buying the car. Did a good job and hasn't let me down so far, almost 30k miles with a lot of spirited driving. Though I think there quite expensive, the garage that I bought the car from payed for...
Looks nice matey but to be honest I prefer the look of them at the standard ride height for some reason, i'd prefer a person to comment on mine for not being a molested/chavved up Saxo.
Go for the Futuras mate, such a good price in comparison to other similar seats/brands.
Hopefully within the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed they'll be in for llandow :) Might need to start pulling all the interior back out again!
Looks in fine condition still Fletch! Mines on just over 101,150 now :) Cant wait for you to go bonkers on this when the times right, go for a set of Bimarcos as well! Ordered myself a set the other day. ;)
Tbh mate I was when it happened, so glad it didnt though! Its amazing what a quick clean does to make a crap car look nice! :)
The car isn't going to be modified, going to bring it hopefully to a clean/mint standard example. Plus I couldn't be doing with having to uncomfy noisy cars, got the...
So a little bit of an update for today, set about getting the mirrors on and giving it a 'quick' clean. Didnt really do a lot else today as I was being lazy but tomorrow i'll be having the front bumper off and cleaning the arches/fitting the front arch liners.
Heres a few decent pictures of...
Didnt stick it on the rollers when it was standard unfortunately Tim. The lowest reading i've got was at SSR in April 09 with just a Yozzasport Cat-back exhaust. Heres the two for comparison
Since that all i've done is ditch the Yozzasport and fitted these...

Just look at Burps final mapping figure James, 198.5bhp and 168lb/ft of torque. Looks like you gain a shed load of peak power but not a lot extra torque at all with ITB's. Though saying that I guess they'll make a lot more torque at low rpm than mine.
So not a great deal has gone on really of late with purchasing a Saxo to sort out and sell on but still managed to get a few little things for the Cup. I eventually bit the bullet and got a decat fitted, its a little louder but sounds gorgeous now, nice and raspy! :)
Also purchased a set of...
Very nice indeed. I think the wheels look good in the colour there in, just needs lowering a little bit for me. Not crazily fast in standardish form from my experience but lots of room for potential! Does that RR figure say 156whp also?
Thats fair enough, as said i've only glimpsed over your thread. If its all going to be done then it will look good when done. I'm also not knocking the painting you done already...
Looks great from the outside, but from reading parts of your project thread the paintjob seems a bit half arsed. Not painting the engine bay or the inside the car does seem a bit pointless given you've done everything else.
As said though looks very nice on the outside.
Just key up the manifold a little bit and then use some of halfords Very high temperature paint as Steve said. No need for primer or laquer and looks really good.
Heres mine painted with the Renaultsport bit part polished. Took me half hour to prep and paint it, dries really quickly...
Braided hoses and some decent Dot 4 brakes fluid first, I flushed the whole system out with new stuff also. That alone made a big difference, then after that i'd go for Brembo HC's and then depending on your driving style and car use choose a set of pads.
Go for some carbone Lorraine pads for the standard calipers, easily enough breaking power and the RC6's which I have on my Cup cost £130 including next day delivery. Saves you over £500 for anything else.
Seats look good also!
If you were going to go for a silver it would have to be really really shiny, almost polished to look good. The paint on them BMW wheels looks a bit chavvy, almost like they've put glitter in it. Still think white looks the best, black and anthracite just makes the car look dull.
