I think you can't constantly restrict the capability of things to suit small minorities that are in an unfortunate position. Otherwise a small number of people will be holding everyone else back for years.
But in the end the market will do the talking because there is no business reason to...
A HD GTAV either on PC or next gen.
The new WoW expansion.
Perhaps Wildstar.
Those are the ones I have pre-ordered or will definitely buy.
Really want Tomb Raider 2 but it won't be this year :(
Got a shed load of games I haven't played or am only halfway through though so it ain't like I...
This.
Said morons have no trouble signing in daily to pr0n sites and gaming forums to whine about how they can't connect every day!
If their connections were that bad (clearly they ain't) then they should have b*tched at their ISP and not MS.
Still for me the main selling point of the XO over...
To be honest I dunno about pausing and pushing ones nose up against the screen but when playing I can't tell the difference between the various levels of MSAA so I never run at 8x.
But yeah this is why contrary to what some people in the industry claim, SLI is not overkill for 1080p.
I have both consoles and a decent PC but am still not sure what to do.
The console version (PS4 in particular) means that I can play with my friends/family and it will work on launch day. Downside is that it will be £50.
A Uplay key will likely be £20 to £25 but if it is like a lot of PC games...
I will tell you one thing. I was downloading Forza in the middle of the evening and the download speeds were a joke. Took about 3 times longer than it took on launch day!
I'd go for a FLAT 1080p screen.
I believe curved to be a gimmick. With the failure of 3D companies are trying to find some other gimmick to get people who already own perfectly good TV's to upgrade. They want to maintain the same churn/surge that they benefited from when everyone upgrade from...
I would NOT get the 4K one.
People say "blah blah future proof" and I am as guilty as anyone of saying that in the past.
But in reality by the time we have enough 4k content to justify it your screen will be a peace of s**t with new models having far better colours, contrast, latency and other...
LOL that's funny as my bro just had some vet bills so I bought back my XO I sold him!
On topic though I always liked Counterstrike as it was so pure. Not a fan of the XP games where no lifers gain an advantage.
Titanfall seems to fit somewhere in the middle ground.
I was having problems installing the 8.1 upgrade the other day (well a month or so back). So I was googling that and found an official MS download page with 8.0 and 8.1 64bit.
I actually bought 8.1 for another machine and it took me to the same page I believe to download it and I created a DVD...
You obviously want an SSD for faster load times.
So it would be daft to then go from Win 8 to Win 7 which takes longer to load on my SSD than Win 8 does on my spare HDD.
Wasting money on the SSD if you go back to Win 7.
Just found out that vsync is the problem with mine. Even on the lowest detail it judders around and is unplayable with vsync on. If I turn vsync off it is really smooth maxed out but I get terrible tearing.
I normally run my monitor at 60hz as it seems to have better colours like this but I...
If I was the type of person that plays COD a lot and tends to prefer mulitplayer games then yeah.
I guess what I keep forgetting with console versions you can sell them a few months later and get £20 back so it's actually not that bad. Cheaper than the PC version in a way.
It doesn't work with SLI yet and on max settings it will frequently drop below 60fps on 1080p and if you use vsync to eliminate tearing you will obviously get quite a big stutter as the frame is forced down even further to maintain sync.
Watching videos about it I see everyone with a 2gb card...
I wouldn't buy it on the Xbox One given the cost. At the price you can get it on PC on imported key sites (£25) it's not so bad but at next gen console prices for a multiplayer-only game and no friends to team up with then I'd have to say no way.
If it had a campaign and was £35 then I'd say...
Fecking A. You have to move closer to the screen and squint to see the difference.
Even more amusing is the amount of vram they use up.
Just caved in and bought this abomination to find they still haven't fixed the SLI issues from beta. Not impressed. Even on a single card the game is...
Do you guys cover your base units when they are not in use?
My case came in a clear plastic bag of quite thick plastic and I drop that over the case when I turn it off at night to reduce the amount of dust that will get on it and drop through the big exhaust mesh on the top over night and when...
Sold my XO to my brother, totally lost faith in it.
I am curious though, did the 50hz update fix the other TV problems?
I have a Sky HD box and when connected direct to the TV the standard definition channels actually look pretty good but when I did it via my XO they looked terrible.
Also...
Yeah definitely get rid of the BenQ and get an IPS unit. You are paying a lot of money for the BenQ for a specialist pro competitive fps player attribute that you don't need and you pay a MASSIVE price in terms of image quality. I run at 60hz all the time unless I am playing CS or something. The...
Bit late to help you now but you never said WHAT you will be playing.
I have the Asus equivalent model of the BenQ. The settings were also utter b*llocks out of the box.
But anyway once it is calibrated properly it is only any good for multiplayer games and primarily FPS although there may be...
Don't confuse the technical glitches (vsync judder/tearing) with the "graphics are not that special" part.
The former will be sorted (I quite happily accepted far worse bugs in TESO because as you say it's a beta) but in my experience the latter won't change. It looks pretty dated and the PC...
Well I got into the PC beta.
Bit of bug there with vsync as it gives a massive stutter. So I have to turn it off and then it runs really nicely but of course there is constant screen tearing.
I see a lot of people are reporting that bug so I think I will wait until that is fixed before...
I really enjoyed it and I was sceptical and haven't enjoyed multi-player games for a long time. I suck with pads but found the default set-up to be perfect and was running around killing people rather than being farmed. Wish all console FPS handled like that.
Noticed dodgy frame rates and I'm...
It appears that most people talking negatively about the beta are those that missed the memo stating that this game was going to be an MMORPG.
They were all expecting a massively multi-player Skyrim and it was never going to be that. The tech isn't there for a start. It has been suggested that...
Well as I say I read the negative reports and being a WoW fanboy I went into the beta for the first time this weekend and was prepared to really tear it to pieces.
I just sold my 3DS to my bro and pre-ordered the Imperial edition. That gives you some idea of the impact it had on me.
I have...
