An update on the Switcheasy Canvas, just in case anybody else thinks of getting one from here. Don't!! I am on my second one as the plastic mold around the iPad keeps on desintergrating. Its not from abuse or being dropped, it is just s**t quality.
The good news is that it is a known issue and...
For meeting notes and minutes, very useful. Jot things down in the Notes app which syncs to MS Outlook notes. Half the work is already done.
For a to do list, I have always just used a notepad and scribbled endless notes and action points as my day goes on. I am struggling to replace that...
I've been using mine for work a lot recently. Taking notes in meetings and managing my "To-do" list on it with the Things app. Being able to access the works exchange mail on it is also a bonus as it gives me something to do when the meetings turn dull. Logmein to access my test machine from...
It has all changed over here (Holland) recently, as all providers are offering the iPhone on contract, and unlocked, they now unlock them automatically. You just have to stick your non working SIM in it, plug it into iTunes and leave it for an hour. The phone then receives and update and becomes...
You are better off shooting in RAW and sorting the whitebalance on the PC rather than trying to do it in advance on the camera. It allows for the constantly changing lighting conditions when driving (different colour headlights/ street lights etc).
You also need a more solid mount for the...
Don't think it was TBH. There is no visible reason why the majority of embedded videos in Safari do play and others don't when they are all hosted on the same site.
Obviously the technical reason they don't work (that everybody is aware of) is that some are flash encoded and others are HTML5...
You can use Remote desktop on the tower if they are both on the same network. As Andi-B said though, you will need to be able to configure it for first time use.
Have you tried plugging the keyboard and mouse in another USB port?
You could try a DIY lightbox. They can give photos a bit of extra help with lighting.
Clairemay from here (ipodsandguns other half IIRC) does a fair amount of cupcake and food photography. Her photostream is worth a look.
I wasn't that impressed with the f1.4. Images taken wide open were always a bit soft (on my copy at least). I'm still trying to decide whether to replace it with an 85mm or the Sigma 50.
Cheers. It's seems to be a nice circuit but is very short! I walked around the inside of the track a couple of times and it feels like you have only covered 100 feet before the cars come past again.
Awesome as ever!
I tried my hand at track photography this weekend for the first time in a while too. Sadly my results are not quite as good as yours!!

I was at Zolder yesterday as the line up sounded interesting and it's not too far away. I bought my camera along as I haven't done any track work for a couple of years. It's a pity that almost all of the decent spots for shots are behind fencing.
Some photos for anybody interested...
UKSkew has a Nikon teleconverter IIRC and I know that a couple of the Canon users her have the 1.4x and Dunganick had the 2x for a while. I have looked into getting one, but the prices are just too high to justify it at the minute as I want the latest incarnation from Canon.
I know that not...
For value for money they are hard to beat TBH. Plus you get a big white lens to stick on your camera which means people move out of the way when you are taking photos or let you in places you shouldn't really be. ;)
I have bought a fair few second hand lenses. Just check that the focus works as it should (close, far, different focal points in the camera), check that all the apertures work and a look for obvious marks on the lens or dust inside and you are good to go. :)
It means that you can buy something...
I have used the 75-300 and it is a woeful lens! Focus is slow, the entire body shifts and wobbles in your hands too!
Images from it are usable with some PP, but I am sure that sigma, tokina or tamron have a better option.
If you can save up a bit, a second hand 70-200 f4L would be a great...
I like the shiny writing. I am not 100% on the different font for the "Captured" and the rest of the text.
I used cheapo vistaprint for mine and have been spammed daily ever since.
I use them to give out my contact info when I am at events or after doing a job with somebody, not as...
