It did the job. The light underwater is pretty s**t so colours and grain are not great but it's better than nothing and beats paying £100's for a case which could leak.
I used one when I was diving in Mexico. I have no idea which one though, I just bought a cheap waterproof disposible. It was the first time in years that I had taken a film in to be developed!
The 30D link is only for the body and is extortionate! The 50D option will get you started but won't be great for what you want it for & os also overpriced.
Canon 50D Body = £619
Canon 70-200 f4 = £419
Canon 18-135mm = £249
or
Canon 17-85mm = £279
or
Canon 18-55mm IS = £94.99

550D has some nice features, it's probably better at high ISO and does HD filming too.
If none of that matters, and you want more FPS, better build and easier ergonomics, then the 50D is the one for you.

You are definitely buying into it! I would do a few things differently if it was my cash, but it is up to you ultimately.
2-3 spare batteries - Unless you are shooting weddings or events and have to take 1000's of shots in one sitting, this is overkill. On my old 350D and 40D I could get...

Our data centre has a couple of bits of old hardware on window sills etc. The size and weight of the old hard drives is mental.
What version of Lightroom have you tried? Since using it, my PP has got a lot better than with Photoshop and my processing times have decreased dramatically.
It is honestly worth giving another go, I think that you are the only person that I have heard say a bad word against it.
Each to their own. :)
It would take me hours longer to do everything in Photoshop that I do in Lightroom, although I still use PS for more complex edits.
Good question. I would not want to duplicate all my .crw files with .PSD files though.
If you have not tried it already, have a look at Lightroom. It leaves the original .CRW files untouched, but saves what you have done to them in a separate file. I use Lightroom for both my edits and...
