700mes of track use? Spoken to quite a few Trophy owners, all were less than 50k. Mine is on 110k now, f**k knows what it's worth, that's if someone is willing to buy it when I pit it up for sale.
You will still have some spin @4000rpm, but you have to be careful with the release of the clutch. Don't dump it as fast as you can or you will just spin. You have to have some slip for a good getaway, but obviously don't do it often. If you do wan't to try it out though, crack on and enjoy!
Seems to go well that. Not the best of starts but I imagine you are trying to save the transmission? For a better start, handbrake and 4000rpm. What did you time them at?
I know it is an old post but i agree with you. The ep3 is def a hot hatch. I loved my mates and the only thing i would change would be steering feel, but apparently it can be sorted for not that much. Mate had a straight pipe and it was awesome. Chavy exhaust, maybe, but at 8500rpm it was ace...
Nice one Filters!
I am up for some karting. Used to go down the Cardiff one all the time. Prefer the newport one but can still have a laugh in cardiff.
They would sort out some decent track time if we could get enough people there. They are quite good down cardiff tbf!
The llandow track would...
Have a look at the thread of the south wales run we did at the beginning of the year. If you get a chance I highly recommend those roads. You will have a grin from ear to ear!
My point was that he said the clio had 2k's worth of modifications and still didn't embarrass it, but the st had the same power increase over standard, not costing 2k as the st is turbocharged. That was my point that's all.
Yeah your right, hence my comment in your car about 3rd gear being...
The ST had the same performance increase from standard as the clio. A itb'd clio is likely to be around the 200-210bhp mark. Increase of around 35hp. The ST was 215 from 180, so 35bhp increase. They were level on paper, despite the clio needing to spend 2k.
The omega has gone down the 1/4mile in 7.70 seconds. 0-60 in 1.5, 0-100 in 2.7 and 0-150 in 5.0. Quicker to 150mph than an F1 car! Absolute f**king monster!
He plugged the diagnostics in this morning and it said misfire. I asked if it was likely to be an injector or spark plug and he said it could be many things. It didn't come up as multiple misfires, just 'prolonged' i think. The light only came on and there was only a problem on sat. I live in...
Some think that an engine thrashed from new is a good one later on, but I doubt thrashing the nuts off it all the time would be better than not. My old landlord had a civic type r mugen and never took it into vtec because 'it scared him'. I think that would cause more problems in the long run as...
I think it is a bit late to do that as the car is going in later to either be done later today or tomorrow morning, but thanks for the help. I am just hoping it is something not that expensive as had a tough couple of months. If the car is running ok and not using water, is there a chance of it...
I'm having a misfire issue sorted today/tomorrow too. Would it be best to ask the mechanic to change leads and plugs first, as they are the cheaper parts? Then coil pack if the problem is still there? Sorry to jump in but I cannot find my thread.
Mine is going in today for exactly the same thing mate. Once the mrs car is done he is dealing with mine. Mine too said misfire but wasn't multiple. He said it could possibly be a coil pack but could be many other things. Hopefully both of ours will be an easy fix and not hitting the wallet hard.
I had a look and can get a new injector for about 40quid. Is that expensive or a good price? Will i have to change all 4 at the same time or can i hold on until next month when i can change all the spark plugs too?
Ok thanks very much. How expensive a job is changing an injector? Would it be best to change all 4? I know i need new spark plugs so is it best to get it all done at the same time?
How do you tell exactly?
Thanks for all the replies.
The engine light, which I think is the emissions light (yellow engine outline with no sign inside) started flashing today. As i started driving i felt something was not right as it felt a little hesitant, but not majorly. After about 15miles of motorway as I was leaving the roundabout this light...
