oh okay, looking on ren-parts direct i cant find any hub spacing or whatever, am i right in saying theyre relatively easy to source and cheap to get hold of also? i mean, the cup shocks are a few pennies cheaper than standard ones that was why i was asking about them, why pay a bit more for...
hi all, just out of curiosity (and please tell me if im being properly thick here..) would cup suspension fit on my non cup 182?
if it does then lovely thats what ill be buying soon! if not im just going to get a set of cooksport springs instead.
mate of mine has a 1.2 clio and he loves my 182, so luckily we found a 172 in the local breakers and took some of the sport bits and pieces off it - gear knob insert, dash inserts, side sills, some interior bits and bobs, the Renault sport sill plates and we were thinking of taking the wings and...
Hi I'm probably being really thick but my car is now back from the lenders after needing a new alternator and it's all done, and I know the code for my radio which it requests me for when I switch it on but how do I go about actually listening to the radio now? All I have is the code on the...
@Mr Burns coming from a vag group car to the Clio and being 6ft tall after a few hours it does get a tiny bit uncomfortable haha and I can't resist booting it all the time so I go through petrol like its nothing by easier to live with I just meant something a bit more comfortable. Don't get me...
dont think i will be getting rid of the clio anytime soon, but i am looking at getting a second car later this year that is cheaper to run and more comfortable and easier to live with day to day. thinking mk4 gttdi 130 and have a bigger turbo put on (this was actually what i was going to do as i...
@Typhoon im not sure i can come mate! that saturday is bankholiday weekend and my work will probably be very busy if its nice weather so i cant get the day off! its also my best friends birthday on that day too i completely forgot so im afraid i cant join you, sorry mate was looking forward to...
thanks very much then guys ! now at least i know where to go or get in contact with if i want something a bit more than 'normal work' doing.
this forum is honestly full of proper nice and helpful people like yourselves, thankyou.
yh i was thinking the only reason it wouldnt turn over would be because there is very little electricity running through the vehicle. hopefully its a simple fix like the altenator or battery connection.
Went to the garage where the Clio is, which is also where I work on Mondays, and started it over, nothing, sounds like engine may be seized according to my mechanic friends. I hope it isn't! They also spotted that there was some rotting on wires to and from the battery and alternator so...
Had not lost power steering so can I guess that the belt had not snapped then on the journey from when I checked under the bonnet to leaving it at the garage?
I hope it is only something to do with the alternator, as it was more electrical faults that then morphed into lumpiness and rough...
hopefully that is the case, just the altenator then! i was having thouights of complete engine failure and having to buy something other than a clio sport haha! ive left it at the garage so i will phone up about it tomrrow and it will be looked at on monday.
now to ask the mother for a lift to...
started off as more of a electrical fault that then gradually turned mechanical. i filled the car up to the brim with petrol earlier today,, which ive never done before.
if its the alternator how bad are we talking?
had the worst night of my life ever.
driving to collect a friend, get a bout halfway to hers, the stop and battery light come on, but dissapear when i have trhe throttle down, but re-appear when i am off it. pick her up, head towards mcd's whihc is about 8 miles away, get 7 miles along and the...
many emotions including anger, rage, sadness and embarrassment went through me for about 1 second until i managed to read that last line ;) you bas*ard ;)
@Typhoon as long as i have about a weeks notice for work im game! may be able to bring some mates in 'standard' clios along as cannon fodd...i mean for them to enjoy it too ;)
spotted silver 182 YESTERDAY down the side road next to ravenside, seen you a few times in and around that area. (go to college up the road from there so i frequent kfc and maccy d's almost daily ahah)
Hmmmmmm seems like quite a pain in the backside to buy it and Install the seats first.
Think what I shall do is save up a bit more for this and then buy seats/frames & harnesses all at once. That way far less faffing will be required hahaha!
Cheers for the info tho, obviously I'm a newb at the...
Well the purpose of gettin the seats was in the end to strip the back out. Don't have money for harness' atm tho however, IF the seats do go in will the standard 'belts suffice?
Oh how convenient that you have some ;)
I don't have them yet, but from what I have seen of them they are OMP fixed bucket seats with sliders and the bit beneath the sliders that connect it to the floor.
