I'm with Adam, I have a seperates system as my current house and bought the soundbar for the new house and I'm quite happy with it. It's the model up from Adams and it will be on the wall behind the TV so literally invisible and I'm very happy with its sound quality considering it's just a sound bar

Adam, I've had separates for a long time and just gone to that sound bar and I'm quite happy :) it's not as good as separates but it's hideable and much better looking
iVE JUST HAD THE EXACT SAME DILEMMA AND SPENT HOURS IN CURRYS AND THE LIKES LISTENING TO EVERYTHING .. I SPENT £289 ON AN LG NB4540. iT HAD PRETTY GOOD REVIEWS FOR A SOUNDBAR ANS ITS RELATIVELY SIMPLE.

Well this new TV is beautiful. Toy Story 3 is absolutely stunning on Blu Ray, animation films look better than Frozen Planet and similar. Really impressed with picture quality! Very very nice! And that's out the box un optimised!
Think I've got a solution albeit a shitty one.
Ive connected the Soundbar to the TV with Optical so the only connection on the Soundbar is now that.
Ive connected all my devices to the TV with HDMI. The soundbar is now permanently set to optical and the TV seems to remember this setting just...
Yeah if i use optical but i want the TV sound to never ever work .. i want every bit of audio through sound bar and if sound bar is off i want the tv to be silent. Using HDMi also means i can use CEC and the Tv turning on or off means the soundbar does the same
So all your external devices plug...
I know sounders are poverty etc but I'm leaving my AVR and separates behind in my old house (sold them for a tidy profit) and getting myself a simplistic soundbar and tv. I say getting i got them today.
An LG LED TV & an LG Soundbar.

No it needs to go in an alcove both Of which are less than 115cm wide, my current TV is 121cm the room is almost 4m square but ha a large chimney breast [emoji106]
