First person to view the car, regarding the advert on Pistonheads bought the car.
Full asking price too. Just shows what a minter it was...
He picks it up in two weeks, once i have a 182 lined up. ASAP really. lol
i've just got home now and i'm f*cking gutted. i didn't realise how attached i...
I thought this would be the easiest way to sum up this year.
Again, many thanks to everyone who made this years northern meets. A a big thanks to Ad, Tim & Maz plus everyone else for the organising.:approve:
Some of the images might seem bizarre, but some of you lot will remember. ;)
Hope you...
just found an old photoshop of my car from when i was experimenting when i first got it.
can't remember who did the ps for me, but strangely, i like it nowadays. although i'd still rather have it how it is.
euro 'bin lids' (cheers Ali) and smoothed.

found this old pic from the n/w run...i need to take some more recent ones.
both immaculately dressed, but one's slightly porkier than the other.

i'm more of a trinny man myself. plus, trinny has a cable throttle.;)
Dug out a few pictures of my old 1.2 16v. Members from the old forum will remember it i think, remembering back to it now, i spent a silly amount of money on the thing. lol
Had it from new with factory xenons and climate control.
This was back in the days before all this body panel changing...
In the next month i'll be changing to a really low mileage Racing Blue 182, the 172 is staying in the family too and i'll still be insured on it.:approve:
FAO racing182 - I'm keeping my dark turinis and getting some coilover action asap, so my car will look very similar, could you post loads of...
Many thanks to Giles for sourcing me the wheel. It's a full blue leather jobbie from an RSI/172 Exclusive.
Improves the feel of the interior soooo much, doesn't feel like an old shed when i'm driving it now! It's a common fault with RS-1's. lol Anyone who saw my old wheel would agree.:dead...
I was just looking through old pictures of when i first got my 172. I can't believe how much it has changed...and how much i have spent!
Here's a picture of what it looked like when i picked her up on 44k miles.
...18 months, one court case, lots of bodyshop hours, the best part of 3...
Last Sunday. Nice weather, so i took the shed for a thrash over to see friends in Sheffield. It just happens that some of my favourite roads are up there. ;) Headed up to Macclesfield then the A539 to Buxton (cat & fiddle) then down into Sheffield. Awesome drive as usual, the RS was faultless...
I attended court all day today to give evidence about the incident that happened to me last summer.
Most of you will probably remember from the old forum that i was the victim of an act of criminal damage. I guy who i had not seen for about 2 years, who i was never friends with in the first...
I friend of mine is having a great deal of trouble with his 1.4 16v Privilege. Basically, when the car is cold it starts no problem, however after the car is up to temperature (even if the journey is only 15 mins or so) and the engine is stopped (say you went for petrol), the car won't start...
Having a pub discussion about WRC cars the other night...Am i right in thinking an anti-lag system is a feature of the ECU?
As far as i know it deliberately creates a misfire when the throttle is closed...hence the 'bang, bang, bang' you hear in WRC.
Any truth in this or am i talking...
Finally got my beloved Nikon D50 back today. :approve: It's been too long...since i dropped it after 3 days of ownership.:dead:
It was a good excuse to give the old bus a good clean up and show you the how the Cup splitter i fitted looks. :) As some of you know, i've not had much luck with...
Just thought i would share some of these with you, on the drive back from picking up my (second) Cup splitter...it's a long story. lol. Just had the phone with me so the quality isn't that good, but the sunset was too good to miss...even in 2mp form. ;)
Hope you like. Cup splitter pics tomorrow...
Whole car clayed. Scatch-X on wings and bonnet. Super Resin and then Meguires 3 stage polish treatment. errr....6 hours. ghey.
Stickers on too.
Couldn't resist a few crappy phone pics ;)
Chris
Voila.....
Turinis refurbed in dark gloss anthracite. Callipers re-painted. Badges re-painted to match wheels. Dark side repeaters.
Need to fit my new arch liners at the front and give it some serious cleaning time. :o
Hope you like.
ps. Cup splitter to follow...when i pick it up from Craig...
Had a bit of a play with an Arctic 182 FF tonight. You were heading away from Sportcity at about 9.30pm.
Anyone on here? The car looked enthusiast-owned.
Chris
Really good meet today. The weather could have been a little better but we made the best of it.
Some funny incidents with Biff's courtesy car too. It's the Agila in the pics btw. lol!
Top nosh in Blackpool too. Brilliant driving. Job done.
Pics...
RS-1's are so fast they bend wheels...
Spotted you heading into Vulcan Village the other morning mate, i was late so i didn't have time to flash. I was having a bit of a blast too. lol
You PM'd me the other day, can't recall your screen name though.:o
Car looked nice mate, picked you out. :)
Chris
Finally got my s/s decat on after a long wait. Must better fit than the old mild steel bodge job i had before, although my new one isn't silenced, so it sounds slagtastic though the K-Tec Stealth system. lol
It's a custom jobbie but the fitment was made for easy swapping come MOT time.:approve...
Bought a new phone yesterday after slumming it with my old one for ages.
A few boring pics of the car after a good waxing to test it out like...
A beer to the first person who can tell me where this is...
...why i was over that region might become clear in time.
