As Kev said, it's a brand new model. Since the FK wasn't a global car, they saw fit to replace the FK with the new model since this one is global, like the Focus RS. It just means that the FK2's value in the future's safe. I'm with Chris on that, I think they'll be hugely sought-after in ten...

For what you use it for, it's a perfect daily. Well "perfect" for people like us who justify stupid car sh*t because we like it. I'd have an M2 in a heartbeat over the RS3, but I understand why you don't.

£600 all in with dephaser. Different design though and they're pretty reliable. That said, I'll still be having mine replaced. £500 without the dephaser. Plus £160 for the major service, so £760 all in. :D
