It's good mate. I personally wouldn't pay there full asking price for a day but it's very enjoyable.
Need to work out if they will clear the brembos with wheel weights first. I'll let you know.
Hadn't really planned to do an track time until well into next year. Pistonheads held there annual Sunday Service at Goodwood again this weekend. Track day on the Saturday, big meet up on the Sunday. The track day was only £200 so i booked it :)
Took the Friday off before and as you can...
So Sunday i headed up to Silverstone to meet up with @Daniel, his mate Sam and Sam's brother George. Sam was running his Storm Grey Clio, awesome car with a hell of a lot of time spent on it. ITB's, AST coilers, fully welded cage, Proper track spec.
Dan had told me there were Porsche's and...
As previously mentioned the rear shocks needed replacing. I did think about doing it after Christmas but after a drive out last week the car was all over the place when pressing on. Going over a slight depression in the road would unbalance the car a fair bit, then the diff would lock and pull...
Have sorted out some of the little bits in the engine bay last week, New Airfilter, New Breather filter and sent the 172 inlets away to be powder coated.
No picture of the inlet but it will be a darker version of the old one :) Should look good once its all put together.
EFI Parts.
So...
Bridgestone potenza.
With the limited running iv had with them they are very impressive out the box. They felt great on the three laps of Goodwood I managed.
Any recommendations for a V6 filter. Mine is as old as when JMS where knocking about so its time to change it :)
Also does anyone know the size of pipe and filter needed for the breather on the back of the engine ? Mines gone walkies ???
Chris
Local guy only wanted the Blocks ! Suppose its better than nothing.
Messaged you mate :)
So yesterday i took the car upto Goodwood for a Porsche track event. Didn't take a camera sadly, but whilst i was there the car died :( Wouldn't even bump start !!!! Got my mate to take me home and...
I did a connects2 install guide if you search for it. OEM aux I think it's called.
Really easy to do, I just don't know if the satnav plugs into the same slot as the connects2 ?
And for the Second time..... Shes Back
Mate came round to button up the shafts while i sorted all the fluids out. Whipped inlet on and she fired right up :) Sounded a little rough for the first 5 mins but then soon settled down. Got the rest of the bodywork back on along with the wheels...
Just the driveshafts left now, then all the fluids and on Saturday it will be fired up :tired: Got hold of a PMS Ac delete kit and fitted that last weekend with everything else.
Currently looking for a winter hack :)
Old engine is out, new is in and we stripped the old one to inspect the damage. Only pictures of the damage today. Will be getting it all put back together tomorrow.
Tiny bit of metal floating around in the sump.
Doesn't show but the cams have some light scoring.
Pitted and scored...
You should see the state of the speed holes we drilled in the rear quarter interior panels !!! And pretty much every other hole created with cutting implements.
