Re: Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc
Was a good afternoon. Shame I had to shoot early but I was on call :(
I'm hoping for some good footage on Wednesday Cub ;)
Cars back at home now all sorted thanks to Mike@Rentech
Would like to say a massive thanks to all the guys that have helped out with support and favors over the past month. Its a costly mistake i wont be making in the future (touch wood). Once mike got hold of the car he got the sump off...
Good news :)
I get the car back tomorrow. Only problem is it now has some pretty nice damage to the front lip. Don't know how to hide it so it wont be winning any prizes for looks :(
Re: Cub's Trackday Flamer - Cage etc
I noticed Tim's in his R26 alot more on track than i did when a passenger with him on the road. Llandow is where i felt it really working for the first time. Where i was having to keep partial throttle coming in and out of the bus stop Tim's foot was flat...
Sod ! My Heart just sank reading that first line !!!
Yea its in Mikes capable hands now. My afternoon has been spent cleaning the driveway ! The old man wasn't too impressed about the thousand patches of oil and crap that came off the underside.
Vulture !!!
Cheers for all the positive comments guys.
Had my first good look over the car today. Been mentally busy at work this past week so iv not had time to get all the oil residue off the bottom of the car. Today i managed to de gunk the main parts and also have a good look in the sump...
Hahaha your right there mate !
Goodwoods attitude to it today is fairly laid back compared to most circuits.
Think the best bit was at the FOS in 99. Nowadays you stand a meter behind a hay bail that's a meter from the track, Then, i was sat with my legs over the bail that was about 6 inches...
Yea definitely not the place to be getting greedy with pushing yourself or the car. I took the tuition my first time round, best thing i did, still didn't stop me from spinning it though ! Some chap in his GTR binned it today quite spectacularly !
Goodwood's fast enough for the clio too keep up the speed up in most of the corners. There isn't much that they wont keep up with/pass.
Tiring circuit to drive for a day straight mind. Having to concentrate alot to keep it on the boil was the main thing i took away from my time there !
