Dephaser still won't cause large power losses.
My money is on it being something completely different.
Take it to your local specialist. Injector maybe!
I bloody hope so too. Hope the car will make it.
Strip and rebuild of brakes and a service day before. Oh i will be busy.
And clean the bloody thing lol.
I would be getting a second opinion!! Bet its something stupid....
Makes me laugh how many mechanics just assume its one thing but its actually something else.
Get it to someone who knows what they are looking at.!
I reckon those may well be clutch related. I had the same problem on another clio i owned. Wouldnt go into 1st it was just solid, reverse also crunched. Changed the clutch and it sorted both problems.
But doing that then putting it back together is a b*****d if it turns out to be the box lol.
This.
Imo they are all a waste of time.
Same as if you break a window at home, you board it up to mask the problem but its still there and will need sorting out at some point. Lol
All to common thing lately.
These cars are getting old now and things need changing. But yet they are just bought up and driven to the ragged edge ,then cannot afford repair/replace costs.
So the more folk do this the more mine goes up;)
