Me too, for the exact same reason. They were a bit stumped on what to do so just said keep the mouse and trackpad - I didn't complain.
Except, me being me, I had planned ahead and bought a Magic Mouse on Ebay beforehand, So I now have 2. I don't use the mouse either, much prefer the Trackpad.
It'll break tomorrow, mark my words!

Sorry for my ignorance but how does it work with the student discount, if I wanted to march into Apple on Saturday with a student under one arm, will I simply walk out with a discounted Mac under ther other arm?
I paid £350 last year and the best i've found this year is £453, so it's true that it's going up for everyone (including old people)
