It's because people break into houses to steal your car. If it's on the street they're less likely to pick the right house. There's a thread on here just this week where 3 guys tried to break into a home to steal the keys.

The tyre squeal is improved personally. As long as you're on sports they only squeal when you push on rather than every corner at 20mph.
