The only thing Ive found so far is that the locking wheel nut key and the three pin key for the wheel trim is still at the dealers coz he forgot to give it to me.
Better hope I dont need to remove a wheel before they arrive :)
Collected my 03 plated 172 this morning.
So far Ive only done 50 miles or so, but shes soo nice to drive. Already run in at 10,950miles.
Pics to follow on a nicer day :)
I spoke to the guys at Renault and to the dealer that sold the car and did the rectification work. So I am fully aware of the warranty repairs.
Its also had the drivers seat cover replaced twice due to bad stiching.
So Im going in with my eyes wide open, and to be perfectly honest, I kinda...
I recently found out that the car I am buying has had warranty repairs on the gearbox.
It went back to a renault dealer 3 times to have various gears fixed.
Hopefully its all OK now, if not then its stil got over 2 years warranty so its all good.
Whats the going price to fill up a 172?
It costs me £40-£45 at the moment in my Primera.
Am I going to be pleasantly surprised or shocked at filling time?
lol at Steves comment :)
Ive just paid 10,845 for an 9month old 03 plated 172 UK car with 2yrs 3months warranty remaining. Fully serviced and 2 new front Contis etc.
I decided Id rather have a 9month old UK car than a new import car for the same price, as the warranty ironically is longer...
Just trying to play Devils advocate here mate, so dont take it the wrong way.
Would you want a mk1 knowing that that for just a little bit more you could have had a newer mk2 car?
You mentioned wanting a mk2 172, there are a few listed on autotrader at 9,000 or there abouts.
If thats you first choice, why not concentrate on looking for one for a while, then "comprimising" and going for the other cars.
I went to look at a 51 plate mk2 172 in Uxbridge for 8,995 iirc.
Ill be watching this one.
My ideal exhaust....
Hidden
Quiet below 4,500rpm
Raucous above 4,500rpm
That what I can drive it "normally" around town/home roads and not let anyone know its an animal and then when I cane it I get the nice sound that goes with the engine.
So what should I run my 172 on?
Its already done 10,900 miles so I dont know what its been run on before.
So is it worth the extra cost of the "fancy fuels"?
If I wanted to add a simple splitter to my 172s Front Bumper, then is the Laguna splitter the best/cheapest/easiest option?
Any others that fit straight on?
Id be interested in the answers you get.
My car (picking up sat) has had 2 new contis fitted to the front, but Ive no idea how long they last???
What kind of miles do peeps get out of the contis on a 172? They heavy tyre users?
hmmm dont think its the tax reason.
My exisiting Primera is 8E, now as I understand it, the E means "exceeds" group 8, ie not quite group 7 because of a few things that put it into group8.
Keep us informed Lee, I reckon a filter is first one my list for my new car, but dont wanna go overboard etc, so a replacement panel filter sounds ideal.
My (soon to be arriving) car has both door locks and clear indicators.
Its regd as an 03, but was built in 02 as far as I can see from the renault paperwork in the glovebox.
The clio Im buying is a UK car(See "Ive paid my Deposit" thread), and hence comes with the standard alarm, armed by they keys etc.
However, when looking at the car, I shut the doors and opened the bonnet to check the oil. The alarm kept arming itself and beeping coz the bonnet was open.
Is...

you got many ideas in the pipeline for it???
Well Id like to get the "ATMO" grill fitted to it, a new less restrictive panel filter is very likely.
But tbph Ive just gotta get used to it standard for now, so nothing major this side...
