Rear clusters unplug from the car so when your cleaning them they wont be attached to any live electrics so thats fine.
The sidelights dimming do sound like a dirty earth or old battery. I'm not sure if you need the negative off the battery when cleaning the earths, but You might as well take...
Yeah If you're confident with some tools its not a hard job, there should be a guide in the guides section.
Wetsanding might make those scratches less visible but if they catch your finger it will be a spray job. Wheres the damage? just rear quater drivers side and front bonnet?
Decent base for a nice project you've got.
Sounds like a lot to do but it will all come together.
Eibach sportlines, new tyres and contact G172 for rear brakes like you say the bearings are pushed in, then go from there.
What you do is you look at the battery in the engine bay, there should be a red box covering one terminal which is the positive, leave that alone. the terminal closest to the front of the car with a short black wire is the negative, unbolt it and take it off the terminal carefully and put it in...
Oh and also the fog light coming on slightly when you brake is your rear clusters having dirty contacts.
Remove the rear lights, un pop the clusters out, unplug them, take the bulbs out, then clean the contacts with a flat screw driver and wd40. When putting the bulbs back in wiggle them a few...
Shame about the damage to the car and the poor repair following, the pics after the detail look lovely!
I'm not sure if its to your taste but for me some white side indicator lenses would be a good addition.
Love the flake in BG paint.
Some trim restorer on the rear faded plastics would make a big difference to the final look.
Also taking the clio badge off to clean and polish the muck off along side using some ear buds to clean the dirt off around the renault sport badge would look better :)
You want to warm it really not heat it, just enough to make the moisture go, then you can hope it doesn't return.
Just look at the sidelight holder if you look at the contacts you will see if they are together enough to make contact with the bulb when it's in, you might have a contact that's...
Are the covers on the backs of the light? so it keeps the damp out?
So the passenger light has condensation, and the drivers side light doesnt work... For the passengers I would take the covers off the back and heat the headlight with a hairdryer, put the caps back on and hope whatever...
Ive switched to SABnzbd now, I like it much better than Grabit.
I think Ill use Astraweb when my trial with Giganews runs out.
I dont know if im not searching hard enough but the content on matrix and a few other sites are definitely not as good as torrents.
I'm doing a trial with giganews at the moment.
And using Grabit, are there any better newsreaders ? Im finding this is slowing down my pc and my pcs not slow by any means.
Washer jets.
They seem to come on every other time i clean the windscreen, You can remove them but the blanks are more expensive than the actual jets.
Last time I looked I seem to remember the jets cost £13 from renault and the blanks cost something like £60? of course there's always second...
I'm looking to set up a newsgroups server and downloading client.
I have supernews bookmarked, Id rather pay monthly via paypal and then renew manually rather than automatically for now if any do this.
Can anyone recommend who's currently best? I haven't really got a clue but I've read the...
I might go with V12s seeing as my fronts are nearly on the markers.
I know its easier to have people comment in this thread as current views do change, but spending some time flicking through all the previous tyre threads will probably make your mind up about which tyre to get.
I've read lots...
The only reason I slightly modified my 1.2 i.e. colour coding, eibach springs, 172 wheels.. Is because I knew I would keep the car for 3 or 4 years purely because I wanted to wait until insurance was affordable on a sport.
I'd say if the money is available do the small touches, just dont go...
The ballast is screwed under the light, undo the 3 bolts holding the light to the car, un clip the two plugs, take both lights out then switch the ballasts over, if that doesnt work switch the igniters (black box yellow writing).
You've probably caught the clips on the airbag metal and bent the bracket, I did it on my 1.2 It took me ages to get it off.
Had to get someone to lift the passenger side dash up and use a thin metal bar to tap the air bag bracket back.
You should be able to unbolt the front wing and move it slightly so it aligns, I'm not 100%.
It might have had a slight knock and had some paint in its lifetime, Or it could just be aligned wrong.
Look at G 172's traders section, you might have to be a member, If you PM him he is popular for good prices on discs and pads.
The above scott has posted is popular for fast road and track.
Brembo HC discs and then do a search and decide what pads you like, could be OEM for normal driving...
Pic of the scratch?
I was thinking of using a smart repairer for my scuff on the front bumper which is well out of the way to be honest in terms of will a bad paint job be visible, the drivers door is in your face so anything other than a very good job is going to be noticeable, and after...
I would still get the arctic cooler for the sake of 15 quid, even if you get it a month or two after, maybe start with the retail heatsink and see what you think.
Sometimes the stock coolers are noisey, sometimes there not.
The Igniter (black box in the photo) twists to the left then pulls off, then the bulb is held in place by two spring type clips.
You push down each clip and move it away from the bulb. Looking from the back of the unit, the left clip pushes down and slides to the left then pulls back, the...
Im not really sure mate, I've thought about adding one to mine before but left it due to cost, they are coming down in price lately, but size wise for an affordable one I haven't bothered.
It a personal thing really, if you can justify the price go for it, but for me I'd wait, do you use...
