You've probably caught the clips on the airbag metal and bent the bracket, I did it on my 1.2 It took me ages to get it off. Had to get someone to lift the passenger side dash up and use a thin metal bar to tap the air bag bracket back.

You should be able to unbolt the front wing and move it slightly so it aligns, I'm not 100%. It might have had a slight knock and had some paint in its lifetime, Or it could just be aligned wrong.
