Yes just clips in. To remove it there are a couple of screws towards the back of it. Unscrew and remove it then put the whole lot back on as one, makes it easier. Hardest part is getting the upper bit near the grill to sit right. Think mine had broke so i just bodged it.
Always wondered what it was but never bothered to look into it. I don't put food in glove box but might be an idea come summer :) (if we have one this year!)
tbh sonys usually store messages on the phone unless you selected save to move them from your inbox to the sim. Sim's can only store about 20 messages max.
Strange for it to happen if you have a good signal. Try moving your laptop closer to his office as a test to see if thats the problem. Could just be a coincidence.
Id be perfectly happy buying a car that had been self serviced by someone who knew what they were doing and had the receipts to prove it. Probably been looked after better than the average joe who just drops it in somewhere for a service.
Just got with these myself. Cheap enough and great with sending texts/emails letting you know the status. Was synching at 4mb down 1mb up and speeds/pings were great.
Not had chance to test it fully though as it was only up for half a day then BT accidently cut our phone line off which...
