Very true. The problem is most people just stick them in without doubling up and tape them up. Me personally I just use clip.

And also can I ask whats products do you use to correct/polish/protect your paint?

Looking nice as always mark. ​That will definitely be a bulb gone, dash top off for that, and their these really little bulbs. You can get them from Renault for buttons.

I find with most of these the airbag light comes back on because the resistor isn't making a good connection in the plug. If you know anyone with clip who can deconfigure them, get them to do it. that's the best way, their never come on then.

As the title states, ive seen a few old threads on here and 197.net with mixed opinions, some saying 'its impossible, your need a new tailgate' and some saying 'it can be done, it just needs some modifying' I can't find a definitive anser or a part number for the spoiler either, help...

I've got the meguires QD. Brilliant bit of kit, just lifts any dust left on the car, very helpful as my cars black.

They look a bit boring, even in their racing strips. Hopefully Renault come up with some decent wheels for this shape because so far they all look sh*te.

Mines got the projector and Corning lights, but no xenons. Did they come with three options for the lights? I.e basic lights projector and Corning lights (standard bulbs) xenon's I take it you couldn't have Corning lights and xenons?

its still on the original belt, it had a new engine put in when covered under the Renault warranty, its not due for another year or 20k. Their definitely is a performance increase above 5k I'm not denying that, I just feel they've smoothed out the 5k kick on the 197's that all.

Yeah exactly! It very smooth through the hole rev range, no kick at 5k like a 182. More refined I guess.

Yeah they can I think the part number is on the back, their from a scenic iirc. Cost about £10 each though and they need to cut back a lot to fit.

Cheers mark, yeah I had the itch for one for a while now, after owning two 182's and a r26 I needed to try an 197 to complete the set! So far I'm really enjoying it, fuel consumption doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be, last £20 got me 100ish miles which is the same as what I got out...

You should of just asked ;) the ones that are a slight different black are new Renault centre caps that I've modified to fit the oz f1's. if you wanted you could push the diamonds out. Iirc two of the caps are the original caps and the diamond are built into the cap so can't be pushed out.

I totally agree Gaz, them side skirts and front splitter thing does nothing for me. Cup spoiler can look good sometimes but I still think their a bit too much. Speedlines, spacers, lowered, gt/sprint spoiler and I'm happy.

All I do if touch up with the brush very carefully in the scratch only and then leave it alone.
