You have to remember it aint just the tyres that wear, when you run something like 888's the grip they have puts lots of extra stress on all the associated shizzle, bushes and the like when one is going bally ho ten tenths
I wonder how many carbboard cut out tards, who've bought a R26R, end up sticking out of a country post office window in the next few months, thinking 888's are amazing and have loads of grip from the moment you turn the key lol
Did you miss the part where I said they go on the std golf wheels u tit. Looking after wheels, I havn't had a complete set of centre caps on any set of wheels in the last 5 years LOL
-15 yesterday, I'd of roffled if I had 888's on, and then gone back to bed and called in sick
having said that, it does work in reverse, If it warms up as it often does, the winters will work the other way if it goes above 7 degrees, and you'll lose braking distance etc, But not as much of a worry when its nice and dry.
If I had a baby to transport etc, I'd seriously consider...
They are Track tyres, your never going to be able to use them on the road as intended, if you do a shed load of track days inbetween daily driving then fine. They only work properly at temp, If you want em on just to look cool, then its pointless, You either warm em up and get cracking or dont...
Winters are never gonna be like summers, You just have to change the driving style to adapt, this vid sum's it up, TBH dont know why the Uk dont adapt a winter tyre policy like the germans, would save a shed load of lives and accidents
This vid shows the differances...
You wont get em warm enough to work properly, 888's work great in the wet when they are warm and there is no standing water, Hit that like you would on the road and you'll be knocking sparrows nests out of the hedgeback, if you havn't already climbed a lampost backwards trying to get heat into...
I have 888's still on the bmw, buts its been sat battery less for a month and doesn't go anywhere. on a daily driver complete waste of time imo, unless you commute from nurburg to Adenau everyday. It takes the best part of a lap of the ring to get my 888's to temp, I doubt you'd get em anywhere...
anyone know what button you press on the clio 2 radio after you have put the four digit code in? My brother has lost the manual, and is getting sick of having to talk to the missus on a drive.
