I give up. Tried to fit the new motor over the weekend. Just too damn fiddly, especially if the scuttle panel remains intact.
I've just spoke to Rentech. Booked in for Friday morning :)
Btw, who knows which motor relates to which washer?
There's one on the front of the water bottle...
Oh. I never knew or even saw that.
Anyway, I've been to Renault today and they have confirmed that there are two motors. I told them I don't even want the headlight ones to work as I'll probably just cap them off. So I bought a new motor and that cost me around £35!!! I then went...
A few weeks ago, my windscreen washers decided to stop working. At first, I thought it was because I hadn't filled them up but that wasn't the case.
After putting up a thread on here, people said it's probably the washer motor. So I pulled the scuttle panel off and removed the washer motor...
On my way home this evening, I spotted a Ph1 172 in silver on the A331 (Blackwater Valley) heading towards Farnham around 6:45pm. I was stuck behind a slooow driver and he flashed me to let me overtake. Gave me the thumbs up as he cruised past too.
Who were you!?! :)
Sorry for another 'Ring spotted thread.
Anyway, a blue 182 was spotted at the 'Ring between the 15th and 18th August. I've found some pics of you on the 'Ring too...
Who are you? :)
Damo
172Ben... So does that mean it was you who I/we saw and met up with coming off the ferry on the 15th, stopping at the first services, etc... You were with an RS Focus and M3 CSL? If so, my mate was having a little "play" with you on the way to the 'Ring because he thought it was me. Dickkk. If...
You were spotted at the services near to Dunkerque and at the 'Ring over the weekend. You were lowered approx. 40mm on 15" black multispokes. I just managed to spot the ClioSport sticker in the bottom left of the rear windscreen. You were convoying with a blue RS Focus and an M3 CSL.
I too...
Update...
After a mate of mine pulled the old motor out at a meet on Sunday, I had a go at fitting the new one this evening thinking the old motor was faulty. Anyway, I took the motor out of the box and have realised I have the wrong one so that will have to be taken back.
To try and find...
Well I pulled the scuttle panel as much as I could earlier and it wasn't enough to disconnect the cable and then remove the pump. I tried taking the passenger side windscreen wiper off but the nut is solid. So will give it another go tomorrow. Unless there's an easier way of replacing the motor...
There's no noise at all. I bought a washer pump from my local parts place yesterday for £13. When I tried Halfords, the bloke said that they do the universal ones, which wont be any good so I'd have to get it from Renault. Hmmm.
I spotted a Ph2 dark red 1.2 or 1.4 16v Clio on Tuesday (29th July) at 6:15pm on the Pirbright bends heading towards Frimley. It looked like it was lowered 50mm on 15" multispokes. Also had something like a "baby on board" sign in the rear window.
Update...
Yesterday, I took a trip to Halfrauds to buy some "Smooth Silver" Hammerite, a wire brush and a 1/2" paint brush.
These are the results...
Front wheels
Rear wheels
There are tiiiny calipers on the rears so not a lot to see. The fronts have come out well :)...
