theres not "bad points" as such.
the ph2 is just a more complete car, the ph1 is rawer and feels like its still in development stage.
the ph2 has a better gearbox, much nicer interior and more gadgets.
it has about 20-25bhp more than a mk1 (they are both down on book figures though) it is...
lol, i was purely on the wind up. hence the wink!!
when my vee was standard it would reel in and overtake a 182 without needing to change down a gear. however i would say there wasnt a huge amount in it.
they have a different sensation of speed though. the vees have so much more grip and...
depends if you have got a ph1 or a ph2!
for both, i would say seats, full exhaust system, kw v'3s, splitter...... trophy wheels if your rich and patient.
for the ph1 specifically, a ph2 gearbox (the main difference between the two) & ph2 inlet so you can reach all six coils - and gain the...
id like to see it in the flesh. doesnt look as nice as some of the other colours, but the rarity does make it interesting.
& to firm up, it is a real v6 & there are a handfull of late registered 06 plates dotted about.
same width mirror to mirror, but the wide sills and panels do mean you need to open the door much more than a normal clio to get out of it.
you will be ok getting one in a single garage, the squeezing in and out is a minor inconvience for ownership!
im sure I saw this on saturday, well i saw a LY with black wheels pods and lights & there cant be many of them!! but it didn’t have that plate on it. had a normal - non private one.
gotta say the black on yellow didn’t look very nice in the flesh. it was ok, just not as nice as the standard...
very intresting topic! i think it depends on the car and the mod.
i think if you can get bits (ideally OE) that that improve a car and you can afford it, then do it.
most car mods are probably pointless, but what ever makes someone happy is the most important thing!
pistonheads, ebay, autotrader, v6clio.net...there pretty much the only places you see them.
which ever you plump for just bear in mind the cat-c ones will be that bit harder to shift, bearing in mind you only want it for 6 months, i would at least re-consider your plan, could take you the best...
i dont know about paper facts but on the road, standard vs standard the vees are a tad faster (both mk1 & mk2), but its miles cheaper/easier to make the focus quicker. with relatively minor tuning, the focus gets the edge.
in terms of presence, rarity, fun and looks, i think the vee wins hands...
Sadly the cambelt is just a laborious and expensive job. Best off avoiding Renault though as they struggle to change a coil, let alone of the largest jobs on the car.
k-tec do the lowest price cambelt change im aware of.
SG motorsport get the thumbs up from me, the most knowledgeable...
good luck with the sale, i think its defintely worth it, especially as your offering the spare parts with it.
with the recent major service, the next owner is looking at a good few years of cheap servicing too!
I was just thinking that!
I wouldnt be put off owning a CAT-D/C vee if the price was right and was repaired by someone who knew what they were doing.
I would knock them down more, you could get a straight one for a couple of grand extra. I would however proceed with extreme caution...
