Did you know your HD2 can be flashed with any of the other operating systems? I run different forms on Android on mine, everything works Marketplace/apps/camera/net etc etc. It's also worth a small fortune on ebay for this reason, so if you do upgrade, get selling on the free listing day...

Worst phone I've ever had was Sony Ericson T68i, think I had about 8-9 of them in a year. The joy stick died on them all. Best phone I've ever had is my current HTC HD2, it's basically a pocket PC so you can run what ever software you like on it (Android, Windows, Apple).

I've got a HTC HD2, which is currently running Windows Phone 6.5 and 7, Android Honey Comb (beta) and Gingerbread, best of all the worlds. Just choose which one I fancy on boot.
