I personally wouldn't lacquer it, but that's your call.
Most paints and lacquers should be just fine up to the sort of temps the inlet and fuel rail guard are going to get to though.
Dude, a set of apex springs won't change anything you've mentioned. I say apex as they're cheaper, and on a non sport, they're entirely fine.
I ran them on my ph1 non sport, it wasn't silly low, didn't scrape, handled far better, and looked cracking.
Hmmmm, it sounds to me like something is going drastically wrong in his prep, or there's high humidity in his workshop :S
Hopefully he'll resolve it though, and this will be finished and totes amazing as you're doing a cracking job mate.
