    Harphamominom's Ph1 Project - sunflower content p12 onwards

LOL! I didn't mean you don't need anything other than standard because you're Paul! I just meant you don't need anything other than standard, Paul. If you search older threads, when this was the height of discussion, you'll see Fred et all, saying that the only one worth upgrading is the...

    The PH1 172 Appreciation Thread.

Fresh plates, no stripes, some springs/coilovers, and different wheels. Then it may look fairly decent.

    Major brake problems

Having no dust cover it's no surprise it's seized like a goodun. You'd never get one un seized with a screwdriver though, not in a million years. Good rewind tool and you may have a chance.

You don't need anything other than standard Paul. Powerflex on the dogbone, with the other two standard but new, make sure the engine is positioned correctly so there's no knocks etc, and you'll be happy as it gets.

Mk2 Clio 1.2 8v Gearbox filler and drain point??

No worries, I can't remember off the top of my head what gear oil and what capacity, I think it's somewhere around 2.2L and possibly a 75w90 but I could be way off.

Mk2 Clio 1.2 8v Gearbox filler and drain point??

Drainplug is on the bottom, looks just like the engine oil drain plug iirc. Filler plug is a wingnut on the front of the box. Best way to fill it up is a length of hose and a funnel.

Is the PH1 172 becoming rare and collectable??

    That'd be Revels.

    wishbone size 10mm or 12mm ? phase 1 172

12mm. (If you're referring to the balljoint bolt sizes)

Is the PH1 172 becoming rare and collectable??

Patter TBH. They're not rare car's, and parts are so readily available and cheap it wouldn't take much to pick up any car and turn it back into a "Standard mint example".

    PH1 172 shocks...why change in pairs?

Yes they're easy to change, there's a guide on here that you'll be able to follow easy enough. As far as I'm aware pattern parts are OK, but I'd see how much the Renault items are. When it comes to changing them, always change in pairs due to the way in which it could affect the handling of...

New country! New whip! (Jap content)

How's life out there though mate? Seriously envious other than the experience of having no mates etc to begin with. If you've not been out there before, go check out Queenstown. I fecking loved the place. Wellington is pretty cool too TBH.

Cracking motor, Christchurch was a bit quiet for me, but it may be better under the surface. Jealous of the NZ relocation though, big time.

    BMW E21 - First Clean

It wouldn't be fun without all the niggles, surely it can't take much to figure out what's making the sunroof leak? MASSIVE towel below it, then watering can until you suss it, you should see it running in from the top if it's leaking that badly though surely?

Looks great. It needs wheels to make it look superb though. I assume you avoided using the pressure washer for now?

    Got a rubbing problem!

Why is this so difficult with spacers, get a tape measure, measure how far from the wheel to the edge of the arch, decide how far you want the wheels to sit, take this measurement, order nearest size spacers.
