You'e thinking of the track increase over a standard 172 - think it was +20mm up front and +10mm at the back. Some of that was from the Cup wheel's offset...can't say what the rest of the increase came from though.

Revs hurt an engine if the oil is cold, so keep the revs down, but give it the odd burst of relatively hard acceleration while you do it. The more fuel you burn, the quicker the oil heats up, so a squirt or two helps it along. I've done this from new for 125,000 miles and it runs as strongly as...

Forgot to add that if it's track wheels you're after, a set of rough-ish looking 15s can be had for £50. I've got 3 spare sets with wets, semis, and crap road tyres fitted with the used track tyres coming from members on here, and I'm down about £600 all in. Bargain.

From what you say you use the car for, I'd stick with standard...there's no need to upgrade, and standard cost about 50p a set as well.

Mine's on 125k, just had a new cambelt, dephaser, runs as good as it always has done. On the RR in six weeks to see if it still knocks out close to 190. In short, if looked after and driven enthusiastically, I think they'll keep going and going.
