Still waiting on my V-MAXXs :( . Have you got any side on pictures? It's amazing how many people fit new springs/coils and don't take a side on profile. I just want to see how low the rear actually is on its lowest setting.

That seems a good, standard example and for the milage, a good price IMO and a good starting point (being standard) for any modifications you'll be making. The belts will need doing if the car is over 5 years old and it will be due it's 36,000 mile service come the time so bear this in mind :) .

Nothing wrong with the V-MAXX coilovers at all - and they're 'cheap'. If you're on an economy drive and want to go low try some custom springs. http://www.coilsprings.co.uk/index.htm

It sounds to me like you've already made your mind up fella'. Buying a mint valver/paying some TLC and bringing it up to mint condition will serve you well down the line. They're still a real head turner IMO.
