You'll mainly have to make sure your new mobo has the same type of processor socket as you've got now What that might mean is in the future when you do want to upgrade your PC you restrict your options because you have an older socket

You can download individual updates manually so if there is something specific you want to do you can identify the specific updates required and download them to a disc ready for your format
