Remeber a Renault Sport is for life, not just for Christmas tree lights.
Sorry Nitos, humiliated and probably not keen to have the same thing happen again.
Can't say it's my cup of tea. What I can't understand is spending large amounts of money, only to loose value on the car. Oh, and the laughs people will give upon sighting it.
However each person has their own loves or the world would be a VERY boring place

Daz,
Its very hard to differentiate anyway. How does anyone explain on a forum what they can actually say in person?
If you offended by the age issue then you should be my age and then think yourself lucky you are not as old. (if you are then my "in sh*te American language" MY BAD.

God, what did I hit,
Was saying BENR. He was good for the club. Now Im not dissing. His imput is now one of profit (good for him).
If people could just understand a club should be one of mutual respect and not, as Ive read today, as an example, "mod. an Octavia VRS and it will do 170"...
Im now no longer a member, used to be three years ago. Still, I read the posts. I remember the way the club was run.
Now it seems to be a bunch of prepubescent individuals, who cant even make out what being a proper petrolhead is about. Overate their ability and diss all oncomers. When it...
Sorry mate, you are responsible for checking and allowing the car into you possession. If you accept it for what it is then you can not complain later the paintwork is not up to scratch.
Bad one I know.

As an afterthought. Why not just get used to the cars noises. Lights will come on, by the time any human can react they are gone.
"Feel the force my young Padawan";)
The rev. limiter cuts in later as the oil is warmed up. Also, if you do hit the limiter you have lost power and time.
Play...
Tom,
I will always admit an error on my part. My comments were not clear:oops:
Yes the 172/172cup had a 3mm diff. in height, track was down to the offsets/castror angle.
The 182 & 182 cup has the differing hubs and even wheel base compared to 172. The differences are basically the same...
Sorry Rob, Dont want to take over.
The standard ride is always a playoff between ride & handling?. One mans nervana is another mans hell. Unless you can drive any RSClio to its limits its meaningless. You would be hard pressed on a road.
Track time is fine. How much of your driving is going...
Tom, you are wrong, you should actually read the Renault sites of the time, gave the differences, and posts on this topic from the last 2 1/2 years. The track is down to offsets, not diferring suspension parts origionally.
Dont know why I bother if you want to know ask BENR and other people...
Sorry forgot the MK1 172 and MK2. The MK2 has a stiffer antiroll bar to stop some of the roll the MK1 was prone to, although having owned one, was not too bad. All other aspects of suspension setup were the same.
Mark
Standard 172 or 182 has the same suspension setup. The 172cup or 182 with cup suspension option has a drop of 3mm, and again no differences in springs/dampers/track between each other.
The 182 with cup suspension has exactly the same as a 172cup, even down to the larger track. Which, as we...
Save weight????, cost on that one is far more that weight, what 0.5 KG at most!!!!!. It would ammount to a persons large belt buckle;)
Cost only :) weight is naff all, its impercievable.
Everyone has forgotten the inevitable differences in engine ouputs. Two engines, the same not modified can vary by up 10% EITHER WAY.
This now makes all the above comments irrelevent. Driver ability, petrol in the tank, or any childish pub like conversation about any weight advantage. Its just...
So so sad, yet agian, there is no real difference in the real world.
Point is, I have been a passenger in a 2.6 Rover SDI (Police car). We were chasing a Porche 911 Turbo round the East End. Guess what. The guy may have the far faster car. So what. He was caught, and more importantly could...
Sorry guys,
The MK1 had a cable, both MK2s had exactly the same.
The management system does not look at what gear you are in. Totally natural to have little exelleration in the high gears;)
Dont worry it looks like a spillage and thats all. Have you tried to fill the oil up with the engine cover on without dribbling some oil over the metal parts? The mechanics are not going to be too carefull.
Sorry, but you are responsible for the car you drive. Not who sells it. Its like saying "I bought this car with an MOT, next day I got stopped and a tyre was bald" or "Ive had my MOT done yesterday and it passed, yet today I got stopped because my headlight wasnt working".
At all points in...
Bryan, Agree would be a car to see. YET still a very overrated response to what he called a wind up. No way will any VTS, supercharged or not give the top speed: and then to say "I didnt say which car" just gives the "Top Trumps" away again.
Who really cares of his pride and joy is worth only...
Still grow up, what is the point of being a 7 year old. Saying "Nah Nah nah, didnt tell you what car." Thats about as realistic as some of the crap that comes out here from time to time.
I probably shouldnt give a reasoned and hopefully articulate arguement.
Im not going to get into "I know...
Ben J got me on that one. I only had a Carrera GT3. Too less on the points.
Ben J one must assume you are a very young man. 185 out of that car is physically impossible. The engine cant rev that far. Nor can any VTR gearbox. GROW UP.
Just because you have "a friend" that can, generally means...
WOW what 182 was ever limited, just like the 172 cup was not limited. They sold far more in their limited lifespan than the full specced machine. Who the hell has ever given you the idea the 182 is limited, let alone a cup racer.
My god talk about pub talk. If people want to dream of a cup...
