Sounds like a duff unit... BUT to rule that out follow the info on the tomtom site. 1) FULL reset of the unit 2) Format unit and replace all the files 3) Allow to sit for 30 mins in clear open direct sky 4) return for replacement!

its the UCH which i assume your on about? You need to use a new one as its specific to each vehicle. The cost of the unit has come down as you say around £200/250 now. Its the labour/programming charge thats kills you as theres plenty of stuff that needs sorting via Renault Clip machine and...

Once its balanced its balanced. Sounds like they did a crap job and maybe one of the weights has coem off again or they just didnt do anything last time. Id get it down somewhere else and have it done, get both fronts doen to be sure. Should have no problem then.

Id say thats about right with your details. Maybe get it a tad lower, but for the usual F/Comp policy with 10k etc id say thats fair with all your factors.

Also, as for replacements. Go for either Philips or Osram (basicly OEM).

"bluer" does not mean better. Increasing the kelvin rating changes the colour, the 172/182 are around 5200k producing a crisp white light. Going higher up will start to go bluer all the way to purple. You dont gain anything more, infact light output gets worse, the optimum output is around...

As per the other thread. 1) Try pressing ANY button on the headunit to get the entry screen. 2) You have inputted the code wrong and are on the lock out period 3) Faulty HU, try disconnection it and retry. 4) Not compatiable with your vehicle - HU from another type etc

The manual shows 2 entry methods. Via the stalk and via the HU itself. Both work.

Not following the instructions properly ;) When the dash has 0000 displayed, you need to press buttong 1 - 4 on the radio. Pressing button 1 on the radio will increase the first digit on the display. If you press it once it stays on 0, if you press it again it goes to 1 and so on....

Some late 172's did have the grey coloured inserts. Quite easy to tell, heres my 182 with grey inserts.

Exactly LOL Mines a v.late Jan 06 182. When i press the Traction Control Button, its off. No matter how fast i go or drive it STAYS off. has done for every other 182/172 ive seen also. and the 197 just has the same switch to do the same thing as mine?

Seems to be holding steady at the mo. Decent exaples are holding prices and even worn ones are holding put. Altho the 197s are just all over the shot!
