Have you just just putting the old HDD into the new machine, while the new one is still there - and making sure it's not trying to boot from the old HDD in the BIOS? Can't see why it won't boot by doing that.
I would try and go for an i series Intel chip. They are so good, AMD have been out the game now for a fair few years. Would be more future proof and last you longer. However, they are slightly more expensive.
I was getting some weird BSODs the other day - really unexpected!
I just updated drivers/blew some dust out and it's been ok since.
Go into administration tools, then view the logs and post any info under the critial things.
64 player maps work, very well too. You don't want 32 vs 32 people - people split off into small squads and attack certain flags. The maps on BF2 were much bigger than the ones on BC2.
I would rather take a nice pc and a 24" monitor over a 42" plasma and consol. The difference is much better.
Or anyone playing a consol.
64 player games in BF2 were awesome. Mashtuur city capturing the flag - splitting off into squads. Commander was a good feature in BF2, air strikes/uav/directions etc - 32 people without a commander is useless!
I'm not sure if BF3 will have the commander option in...
