I don't think i've ever come across anyone who's ever actually been done for 'fronting'. Its talked about - but thats where it ends. Nigh on possible to improve!

RE: the window mech, its usually a white bit of plastic that fails inside the door (they're famous for them) that breaks causing havoc with the wires that tend to raising/lowering...
You're a very talented welder mate, the craft in that is exceptional. I know a few welders and the only thing I've seen close to that was a guy at 50 years of age who was really really talented!!
Like you say though, they look awesome - they sell cars as well, I've appreciated mine more since I fitted the Sabelt RS wheel as well. Really is a great combination!

The benefit of buying a non-cup packed car is the choice of coilovers is greater due to the bolt spacing AFAIK.
You can add a Cup spoiler and paint the wheels and pretend.
