Started seeing a few regularly.
Silver 182 parked in Whites Way
Blue 172 that drives out of Whites Way every morning
Black 1*2 that I have seen on the road towards Hedge End station some evenings about 6:15
Blue Phase2 V6 seen sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evening. Seen...
Without taking it off he wouldn't know, as with it fitted you are fighting against the spring. The mechanic who changed mine asked why I was changing them as all looked fine. When he took the dud one off he could easily tell it was broke.
In his defence, it can be difficult to tell just by looking. And bouncing or pushing on the car wouldn't show it. The only reason I noticed mine is because it looked wet when the weather was dry and the car hadn't moved for a while.
Dampers/Shocks are the same thing. Its the long black tube that runs from the bottom of the suspension up through the wheel arch and bolts into the boot.
I had one fail, and it went through an MOT and a mechanic without being noticed. It just looked 'wet' so I assume they dismissed it, but...
Fitted one to my stock 172 last week. It has reduced the 'floating' I got at high speed, and also changed the feel of the front end.
The outside front used to sink and then slide under heaving cornering. With the ARB on it sinks less, and now feels to grip a lot more and not wash wide. I have...
Ha, nice idea!
Only works for letters that are symetrical though. SKEETER wouldn't work in reverse.
TBH, I'm liking the idea of '172' in silver and black, front and back.
Though about blank ones, but figured if I'm going to do that I should at least put something on them. Could get some that just say '172' or something. Could also get old style black/silver ones.
Does anyone have any number plates they use just on track? Was looking at getting a smaller plate for mine, and though it would be cool to also get one that just says SKEETER and put it on when on track. It would save having to blur out number plates in pictures.
Anyone do this? I know there...
What do you want? Sound, or power?
Pretty much nothing you can do simply with the airbox will increase power. You can however make some fairly noticable changes to the noise with airbox/filters. Or you could take the free route and uncouple the cold air feed pipe to get some boom.
But power...
What about if you have a pretty standard car, but don't actually use it on the road unless your GF's car is in use/off the road, or you fancy hooning it a bit? My car hardly moves and the plan is to trackday it a good few times a year.
There was a group buy of a custom made bar. They have all sold, but I think enough people could persuade them to make another batch. Check the Group Buy section for it.
There is an order currently on a boat from Australia, but they are all pretty much sold. You are then looking at another 16 weeks from the point that Whiteline Australia ship another lot, but the unknown is how long it will take them to arrange another order. Could be another couple of months...
Lol.
I think 195 on the stock 7" 172 rim is actually to narrow. They look mildly stretched and after some thrashing yesterday I had marks and road dirt halfway down the Toyo logos on the side wall. I can see why they went to 205 for the 182.
But finding details on non sport wheels is difficult...
Been looking for some 15" track wheels but nice ones are hard to find so I'm tempted by some cheap stock 15s of another non sport clio, but details are hard to find. There's some from a mk2 that look like smaller stock 172 wheels, but they seem to be 6.5J not 7? Does this affect tyres? Can you...
