There's a fair bit of access there, you the throttle cable route is to come out, turn towards the passenger side, along the back of the engine (behind heatproofing) and then up to the throttle body, I imagine you could come out of there and straight up?
No offence, but with your evident lack of mechanical knowledge I'd just take it into a garage rather than try to figure out/fix something yourself.
It'll be much safer and they should find the issue no bother.
Is there still a hole where the throttle cable is on a ph1? Down near the pedal set, just above? It could be plugged off with a gromet, or could not be there at all... but if it's not you could drill a hole there?
Nice shots, I also assumed you were much older. Nice motor at 19!
Genuine LOL at this photo though.. for two reasons...
1) I really hate the shoes the chick is wearing, i only noticed them after entering the thread for the second time
2) It's the beige shorts and Holister upper bodywear...
Nice car OP, whether it's M-sport or not isn't the big deal for me, it needs some better wheels, with more appropriately sized tyres for a bmw, those would look at home on a zafira ffs!
I want.
It's a good starting colour, but the wheels are unfortunately "those" wheels that we all buy then regret it when we realise what looks good.
A nice car though, and a good base to make an interesting first car!
I think what Fred's trying to say is buy a second hand bracket for peanuts, buy a second hand alternator for peanuts, buy a new water pump and aux kit and then get someone who knows what he's doing to fit it.
I owe one random member one, but I don't work near a post office and I'm not at home when one's open, so I feel bad for that. I hope he found one elsewhere.
I may have caps though. Maybe..
