Try squaring up to the junction so you can see both ways..regardless of road/lane markings and angle. Need to do this in a lot of vans, no problem so long as you're not in anyone else's way.

Lee's pulled harder down the straight, and consistently hit a higher indicated top speed before the chicane than mine did. They go, very well.

Both. The chicane at the end of the straight is 50-60mph for some people, and 80-90mph for Lee.
