ATTENTION SEEKING ***** young one! ;) One of those i will never be!
I have the Recaros! Love the snug fit and they look ace but they do come across very lightweight and you can tell if you dont look after them (i literally hop in and out of mine) they'll wear in no time! The standard...
LOL.
Na not yet mate!
Was thinking of actually getting it out of the garage the weekend and making it look lovely to get some decent pictures! Might even treat it to a good run out! lol
Interested in this too.
The screen on the 182 gos off completely when its switched of the 197 one doesnt - Im asking if it should (or how you get it to switch off)!
Shimples really....
Thanks for the genuine responces chaps!
Can somebody advise whether the temp set will stay on the screen at all times even when turned off please?
Reason i ask is because the 182's shut down totally (the screen went blank) when the CC/AC was off but this one doesnt and i dont wanna be burning unnessary fuel now do i!? ;)
Cheers...
^I dont think my right foots the reason mate as, as said i drive this car no different to the 182 i had for years prior but that car reported pretty high readings when compared with the same car elsewhere!
Also my driving has been mostly round town so far rather than A roads and motorways so...
^Was that aimed at me!? lol
I own a mk3 mate and had a cup packed 182 before hand for 4 years! I wasnt digging at the newer cars but i am suprised you dig them! ;)
Indeed!
I would've certainly gone for a 200 had i done more miles than i currently do as, as i have said before i do believe its the better car BUT by how much im unsure!
Fair play!
Bar looks i just couldnt tell the difference personally (same spec car for same spec car) although i only had one outing in the 200 and i dont think you can get a good idea from that alone.

They are possibly as different as the 182's were then!
My old one used to get 38-40 at all times (it wasnt driven any differently to the 197) yet most seemed to report early to mid 30's!
29 is a fair bit more than im seeing! I do only use the best juice form Shell (or BP as a substitute)...
^Thats bloody good!
Best iv seen in my 197 is 25.1 and that was driving like 'super nun'! Low 22's when driving it like it should be driven!
Im hoping she gets better with the miles.
Na mate not at all! You give me decent dollar and it was time for change and a move away from LY!
I think i will go for either an RB 182 or Trophy and as you said the rest toward a deposit on a house if i do let it go! I fancy getting on the ladder sometime next year even if its just to rent...
Thought about one before the 197 but any that were worth looking at were knocking on 14k's door (probably more for the better ones) so they were about 2k out of my budget.
To be honest mate your probably right but i got good money for it and experienced the 197 so at least i can say i have given it a go!
The LY was too much for me after four years anyway (as nice as it was) so an RB or Trophy will at least be a little less in the face.
LOL - I aint that bothered about it mate hence considering going back to a 182!
It is nice to have when you take some random bird out on date for the first time mind! There wasnt too many who like the 182 letalone the Williams hybrid before it! The 197 is a far more grown up car for sure...
Thats the thing the 197 is very refined and well built although im not sure that at just over 6.5k miles i can get a great idea as with miles it could become a shed for all i know!
Do you use yours daily mate? Is that why the way the cars built is quite important to you?
This is what im...
I commute by train during the week!
Weekends are abit hit and miss! I couldve been using the 197 to drive to Lakeside yesterday afternoon (instead i was in a car that crashed as per my thread in GC) but i was over the limit from the night before so decided otherwise!
I generally prefer a...
Sometimes it will get used for things like Alton Towers/Thorpe Park in the Summer, shopping trips and use it of a night if i need to go somewhere so i still want practical but these are obviously few and far between!
I wouldnt want a Ph1! To me the 182 is still cracking value for money and i...
I have had the 197 for a few weeks now and was happy as larry with it initially but have used it for all of three times (only one of those was when i actually needed to) so i am wondering whether having a nice car sitting in the garage (which it is) is really worth it when i could have a mint...
I still think it depends on who your dealing with and how far they think they have to go to get a deal out of you!
I was offered a showroom 200 (very desirable colour and a fair spec) for 14k aswell as a very good trade on my 182 at the time not so long back and i know another member off here...
