renault heat sheilds have a lining that stops any heat getting through to your brake lines behind. i dont think a stainless steel one with foam or rubber back will be anywhere near as "heat sheild" as a renault one.
unless u plan on something else?
i put one on mine as it was free cus my dad didnt want it and guess wat? i believed it made a difference.. like u do.. cus u want it to. then one day i decided to remove it to see wat difference would go back to. and ah ha! sod all! if anything my cars quicker revving now and still eats as much...

car seems to be running fine all the time now.
but still the noise and we cant make out where from!
the brakes are workin fne. but could be brake line? or a problem on the inlet manifold as it stops when heated up so metals expanded i guess?
its still runnin power fine it seems though
just drove it home, got a funny whistly sqealy noise on acceleration and deceleration sounds like comin from the engine and pullin away in 1st going up from 1500 to 3500 revs it was jumpy and juddery every so often. any ideas?
